[LincolnTalk] Have you contributed to the LincolnTalk list of recommendtions?

2022-09-13 Thread Alice Waugh
As you may know, LincolnTalk no longer allows you to search the archives of
emails by topic, so over the past year or so, I've been compiling them into
a "view only" Google Doc called "*Recommendations by Lincoln residents on
LincolnTalk *":

tinyurl.com/lincolntalk-recs

The LincolnTalk moderators have kindly agreed to let me post this list on
the Lincoln Squirrel website. I plan to put it on a page that will be
hidden from search engines, but anyone who goes to the Squirrel home
page (whether or not they're Squirrel subscribers) will be able to see the
link.

Many items include the names of Lincolnites who made the various
recommendations, though not their email addresses or any other personal
information. If you're one of those recommenders and you would like me
to *remove
your name from the list*, please let me know by *Friday, Sept. 16.* Also
let me know if you have any other updates to the list. (The "babysitter"
information probably gets out of date the fastest as people graduate from
high school, etc.)

Cheers,

Alice Waugh

Oh Kathleen!

I first met Elinor when she was a poll worker and we had a blast signing
voters out! She had just moved to Lincoln at the time and I think I might
have been her first friend in town! I have found memories of conversations
with your mum and her even coming to pick blueberries at my home! GodSpeed
Elinor!
Peace and blessing to you Kathleen and your family!

Excellent condition, used for a few months with no visible signs of wear. Our
baby loved it but is too big now. We opted not to use some of the noise-making
toys it came with, so some are still new in packaging (second photo). $40

Do you have a great horse property but aren’t using it, love horses, but don’t
want the responsibility? I am looking for a barn ( or suitable shelter) and
pasture for my 2 lifetime horses near Baker Bridge Rd. Willing to set up
fencing, etc. do all work. Responsible adult with many references. I would also
consider sharing them under the right circumstances:)

[LincolnTalk] insect, moss, and weed control products

2022-09-13 Thread Debra Daugherty
I am cleaning out a house and finding lots of insect, moss, and weed
control products. I have no first hand knowledge of the products.

There are many cans of Raid products of various sorts. A bag of granular
ant control for the lawn by Terro. Bottles of liquid Sevin as well as a bag
of dry Sevin. There is a Carpenter Ant control product that is basically
permethrin (many of us use permethrin on clothes to prevent ticks). There
is a full bottle of Moss B Gone, which is a liquid potassium soap product.

If anyone would have some use for these products, please let me know.

[LincolnTalk] LPS Welcome Back Celebration!

2022-09-13 Thread Kim Goldmacher
*Welcome back! *

Friday, September 16, from 4-7p @ LPS

The LPTO cannot wait to say "welcome back!" to everyone *this Friday* at
our Welcome Back Celebration! This is our first back-to-school party since
2020, and we're ready to celebrate!

Meet us in the Reed gym to kick off the fun. There will be a DJ, raffle,
a web app that updates with hopes and dreams from the community, 20+
community organizations hosting tables, games, and a slide show of LPTO
photos and enrichment programs.

We'll then head outside to Codman field (weather permitting) to enjoy
pizza and other food options, drinks, games, and continued opportunities to
connect with the LPS community.

Please consider bringing water bottles to fill and reduce plastic waste.
You're also welcome to bring a blanket or lawn chairs to Codman field.

We still appreciate your RSVP, so we can plan for food accordingly.
Please fill out the quick Google form here
.
Thank you!!

We are looking for volunteers to help out with lawn games, hand out food
and drinks, and generally helping the PTO Volunteers with odd jobs during
the party, including in the welcoming crew. Please reach out to Shu Ling
Chow (slian...@hotmail.com).

Thank you to everyone who has supported the LPTO through these past years-
let’s CELEBRATE together!

[LincolnTalk] Question about water restrictions

2022-09-13 Thread Leslie Turek
In reading the "Mandatory Outdoor Water Restrictions" document
downloaded from the town's website, it states, "the Water Department
is required to enforce outdoor water use restrictions from May 1
through September 30."

Does that mean that after September 30 the restrictions are no longer
in effect and we are free to install new plantings and water them as
needed?

Thanks,
