Re: [LincolnTalk] Any Ice Skating Stories?

2022-12-22 Thread Sara Mattes
Back in the day, a word would go out and folks would convene at Valley Pond,
with food and libations.
Bonfires were lit, chairs set up and some would actually venture onto the ice
for a spirited, intergenerational game of ice hockey.
Others would tentatively make their way around the ice.
A straight-backed chair was kept on the ice to proved support for those new to
those narrow blades on the feet.

Others simply sat, pond-side, imbibed ( or not) and enjoyed the warmth of
fellowship.

We have not had ice to support much these past years.
That should not deter us from the other components of the gathering.

Hi LT,

I am looking to make candles this weekend and all the local craft stores that I
have called don't carry supplies or are sold out.

Do you know of local stores that do?

Do you have supplies you are willing to sell or donate?

Looking for beeswax pastilles for easy melting, lead-free cotton wicks with
clips, and a wick centering tool. Also open to taper molds.

Thank you!

desk or otherwise—from the former Charrette store.
Overall, in excellent condition with white melamine top, 30 x42 inches.

Pickup in North Lincoln.

waiting for the replacement to be scheduled and completed, we purchased six
electric radiators, stand-alone units on wheels, to help keep our house warm
and prevent damage and burst pipes.  Now that we are again toasty warm, we
would love to find a place to donate them.  Or, can we share them with other
Lincolnites who might want a small space heater?  Please let me know your
ideas.  Our first choice is an organization that can share them with people in
need.  I have tried Household Goods in Acton but they do not take them.  If you
have any ideas, I would appreciate it.  And if that doesn't work, any
individuals interested in one or two or all of them?
Thanks for your help.

[LincolnTalk] Electric Radiators - where can we donate them?

Good afternoon.

[LincolnTalk] CHIMNEY INSPECTION RECOMMENDATIONS

Years ago we had the same problem with Liverman. We then had a mason come in
and he said there was no problem and he cleaned our chimney. Beware.

[LincolnTalk] HOORAY-- lost rooster has been found

2022-12-22 Thread Karen Seo
Thanks to the kind efforts of a couple of neighbors and a friend of one
of them, the little rooster has returned home.  He was found near
death a couple hundred yards away on the edge of nearby street -- cold,
hungry, thirsty, exhausted.  He is now back with my 5 hens and there
will be no free-ranging for him until he gets firmly bonded to the
hens/coop.
