[LincolnTalk] Looking for certified financial/planner- Any suggestions?

2024-05-07 Thread sally kindleberger
My financial advisor lives in Greenfield which is quite a commute.
I am looking for an independent, certified planner, who is a member of the
National Association of Personal Financial Planners. It would be a plus if
this person was a member of the Alliance of Comprehensive Planners.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
Call me at (781) 799-4892 if you have suggestions.
Thanks, Sally

Re: [LincolnTalk] Chimney Flashing replacement repair contractor recommendedation

2024-05-07 Thread Rob Haslinger
We recently had some minor roof repair done by Universal Roofing
508-922-8108. They were one of the only roofers we could willing to some
repair rather than put a new roof on.

Good luck

[LincolnTalk] Life After Death?

2024-05-07 Thread Kay Peterson via Lincoln
Interfaith Series on Life after Death
What happens after we die? How do different religions understand the
possibility of life after death? St. Anne’s invites the wider community to a
lecture series on this crucially important topic by three local religious
leaders from Jewish, Muslim, and Christian backgrounds. Informed by their
respective faith traditions, each leader will speak on how their faith
understands the afterlife, including the texts, traditions, and experiences
which shape their understanding.
The schedule of speakers is:
Tuesday, 5/7: Rev. Stephanie Bradbury (Episcopal priest and
near-death-experience retreat leader)Tuesday, 5/14: Rabbi Judith Kummer
(board-certified Jewish chaplain)Saturday, 5/18: Dr. Mohamed Lazzouni (national
interfaith leader & adjunct professor at Boston Islamic Seminary)
All events will take place at 7-8:30pm in Flint Hall at St Anne's (147 Concord
Road in Lincoln, MA). For questions or more information, please email Rev. Joe
Kimmel (j...@stanneslincoln.org). All are welcome! --

[LincolnTalk] Fwd: Democracy Awakening: A Conversation with Heather Cox Richardson - Today at 6:00 PM

2024-05-07 Thread Deborah Howe via Lincoln
Thanks, Sara, for posting this notice; I’m glad to know about this talk, and
hope others from Lincoln attend as well.

Countless people have recommended HCR’s writing to me, and in turn have
recommended her to many many others. She draws parallels between today’s ideas
and events in the US and historical ideas and events, and does it in a clear,
engaging way. Not only is she a remarkable historian and writer, she’s a
completely accessible speaker (BA and doctorate from Harvard, professor of
American history at BC) — tonight’s talk should be a good one.

Lots of ink for it if you are handy and can fix the paper jam.

[LincolnTalk] Public comments opposing expansion of Hanscom private jet hangars

2024-05-07 Thread Anne Sobol
Why is the

Hanscom private jet expansion

such a bad idea?

Thursday, May 9th, 2-3:30 pm

Lincoln Public Library, Tarbell Room

Come hear a short presentation about reasons to oppose it

– then get help sending your public comment to EEA Secretary Tepper.

Date for filing comments extended to June 14th, but better to file sooner
rather than later to ensure MEPA takes account of your comment before
issuing its ruling shortly after June 14th date. Also, June gets
complicated for many of us. Act now!

Bring your laptop or your cell phone. (The most effective way to send your
comment to MEPA is to send it as an email.)
