Re: [Q] Memory sharing of Linux servers on between different z/VMs?
LPAR does not support shared memory spaces. I believe z/VM does. If the Linux servers are guests of the same host and the host is z/VM, I believe you can do this. However, I am not a z/VM expert and have no idea how to configure this. adam On Wed, Jun 22, 2011 at 9:26 AM, Dave Jones wrote: > Different z/VMs, either in different LAPRs on the same box or on > different boxes can not share physical memory. Re: ASCII to EBCDIC conversion
If I remember correctly, the way I did this (when I needed to do something like this) I transferred the files using vanilla FTP in binary mode. There is an FTP option you must specify to the FTP server on the z/OS system requesting the inclusion of the record descriptor word (RDW) field. The RDW, among other things, describes the length of the record. You need to use the RDW to insert carriage returns between the records. cross compiling for s390
I would like to set up gcc on my laptop to cross compile for s390 architecture. Has anyone attempted this? Pointers and words of wisdom would be appreciated greatly. -ajs -- "Intelligence is the ability to avoid doing work, yet getting the work done." -Linus Torvalds -- For LINUX-390 subscribe / signoff / archive access instructions, send email to lists...@vm.marist.edu with the message: INFO LINUX-390 or visit http://www.marist.edu/htbin/wlvindex?LINUX-390 -- For more information on Linux on System z, visit http://wiki.linuxvm.org/
Re: SSH & X connection to z/Linux from Android?
*snip* What about X? I've found a VNC client for Android from the RealVNC people. So it would likely work. But I've never used VNC on Linux. *snip* I use vncviewer to connect to linux boxes everyday. It works just fine -adam On Thu, Mar 31, 2011 at 9:05 AM, Dominic Coulombe < dominic.coulo...@gmail.com> wrote: > Hi John, > > I use the free Irssi ConnectBot on my HTC Desire Z (Android 2.2) to connect > to Linux machines.
