So has open source become free as in 'free beer' ?

What a wonderful news! About a new edition of LAC being announced I mean :-)
... Looking forward already!

Cheers,
Marc

France has some awesome beers too, if you're into Belgian beers I can recommend Bière de Garde style beers from
Anosteké (the Prestige), La Choulette (amber or blonde, but the amber is nicer imo), Jenlain (blonde, the amber is
less nice) or a good Goudale (Grand Cru, Septante 5). Close to that there is also 3 Monts, with the typical cork. And
there are some great craft breweries too that some chains stock, like La Débauche (Intermarché), Sainte Cru (Super U)
and BAPBAP (Lidl). One advice: be careful with beers that are being advertized as "bières artisinales". Since I've
been keeping notes of all the beers I've had the bières artisinales were pretty much all emmm, bas de gamme. Ok,
another advice, run if you see any big brewery crap (Kronenbourg, Pelforth, Fischer).

Duvel, at 8.5%, isn't even the strongest, some go up to 12%.

It played a role in my life as well... My first ever job (long ago)
was as a sound engineer for Belgian radio and TV. One evening we were
recording Schubert's piano trio op.99 at the famous Flagey studio 4.

The producer, who also was a music teacher, had engaged one his
students to turn the pages for the piano player. After the recording
he asked me if I could bring her home, as that was on my way back to
Antwerp. So we ended up in the small village of Breendonk which has
no claims to fame except for being where the Duvel is brewed.
We had some Duvels at the small cafe opposite the brewery and ended
up waggling to her parents' home. A few days later we saw each other
again, and became 'an item' that lasted for almost ten years.

Cheers,

As in, considered harmful by some, but very nice if used sparingly?

Some experiences I've had with Belgian beers were more akin to memory
barriers... stupid me was enjoying Duvel without parsing the metadata
(the taste is so light and summer-y), matching my friends' cadence (who
were drinking pilsener). One of the few evenings where I don't remember
how I got home.

Great news to hear LAC is back, and as I'm clawing back control of my
work-life-hack balance, I've rammed it into the bedrock of my calendar
with a solid concrete base and some barbed wire around it. See if any
client can move it :o) Very much looking forward! And then, wine (or
French beers) it will be.
