I personally don't. I don't use it for illegal stuff so I have nothing
to hide. (If I was doing anything illegal, that needed real anonymity, I
would not use unencrypted text on a public server anyway :-)

I'm quite sure they DID anticipate it, and don't mind doing a little
work on your mail. in return they get a lot of valuable statistics on
language structure, vocubulary and other things they need to make their
engines better.

Mind you, their spam filters are not that amazing though, I do get about
1-2 false positives a month and about 1-2 false negatives a week, though
always image spams.

and if you will look closely, when you send out from your mail, this may
have set your "From:" header correctly, but it sends your main account
in the envelope. some anonymity :)

One way text-to-report, with no real GUI manipulation of input.

Missing basic features, such as task duration in hours. No resource
leveling, so it merrily assigns the 100 tasks to the same person at the
same time.

Windows only.

Supposedly cross-platform wxPython, but the developers have never tested
it on Linux and it really shows -- a lot of basic stuff is broken.
And again, no resource leveling.

There's also Planner (http://live.gnome.org/Planner), a GNOME app with
by far the smoothest GUI of all of the above. It's fairly rudimentary,
but would have sufficed for my needs -- except it doesn't do resource
leveling either.

On the non-FOSS side there's http://www.jxproject.com (ad supported or
$20 registration), which has a highly annoying Java interface and very
basic functions, but it does at least do resource leveling.

They first have to get a clue about DNS. Many links
on their front page point to http://postil.com
The problem is that this domain has only MX records for mail
and no A record. Pressing these links result in unknown host
error.

Which makes you wonder does IE try to connect to port 80
of mail exchanges?

I know, but it's good enough for my needs:

1. Avoid my address being added to google'able mailing list archives.
2. I can advertise my pseudo-address in public without it being
associated with me. Once someone contacts me either I don't care that
they know who I am or they aren't capable enough to find.

[OT] Contact number of Uri Even Chen?

2006-11-02 Thread Amos Shapira

Hello,

I'm trying to reach Uri Even Chen who keeps sending me his paranoid
spam messages and including my e-mail address on CC for any spambot to
harvest (and just generally associating myself with this nut case).

I tried to call the numbers mentioned in speedy.net's WHOIS records
(+972.97715013, +972.97716721) but the first reaches a voice mailbox
(I left a message) and the second is a FAX (I'll send a fax too).
Email wasn't effective either so far.

Does anyone here have a reliable phone number where I can reach him
and ask him to remove me from his spam list?

Thanks,

It's not spam unless you don't know the guy. Paranoid it is, though.

It is amazing to me how someone who wants to solicit my help regarding
his privacy and rights can disrespect mine so much. Maybe it is spam,
after all.

Yes, well.

His resume lists the same number:

I doubt he'll honor it. I'm open to being pleasantly surprised, however.
