IMAP and subscribing
Hello, As my father has already said, we've just switched ISPs. Now I'm using IMAP so I don't have to download all of my E-mails (now I only have to download the headers of messages in threads that I don't read, instead of everything), but I now need to make folders on the server for sorting my mail as before (with POP); when I was looking at my mailboxes through the webmail interface, I came across an option for each mailbox called subscribe. This one of the many things for which Google is useless. What does this option do? There's also the same option in Thunderbird (my mail reader). Or, if anyone knows off the top of their head how to sort E-mail into separate folders using Thunderbird, then just tell me that. Thanks, Aidan
Re: my video card is possessed
Ok, I've just tried the nv driver with a huge desk fan, on high, pointed at the graphics card heat-sinks. I also tried detaching my system fan from the case and doing the same thing with it. No diffreence; it still freezes after a little while. It's a low-end video card (see attached file for full information), and has no fan to fail. Is there a way to test the card for heat damage (or any kind of subtle damage)? And, John, how could the motherboard battery affect the video? Thanks, Aidan John Mallett wrote: On Sunday 05 April 2009 17:02:47 Steve Holdoway wrote: Sounds to me like the fan's failed... If it is an older computer doing strange things it might be the battery on the motherboard. It wouldn't hurt to replace it. gfxcardInfo.txt.gz Description: application/gzip
Re: skype
My two bits would be that the new version is annoying on windows.. Why bother? :-) It does a couple of annoying things like not scrolling properly if you've got chat history enabled... I'd wait a few weeks and the first lot of patches will be out... Apart from that, it doesn't work in wine on Ubuntu 8.10, I tried and gave up after copying 20+ files off an XP machine chasing errors messages. Cheers, Me.
