[REBOL] full names in sender Re:(2)
IIRC, that was a version of SELMA, but then RT did some maintenance work on the script en dumped full names? Ingo and I discussed the "problem" and even had some solutions; none of mine ever got worked through enough to submit to RT for inclusion in Selma (or REBOL itself). ... Hi Kev, my version works for me and got sent to feedback (final version was #1467 22/Nov/1999, I think), after that I never heard about it. Same for help working on path values (#2729 12/Apr/2000). So I now just enjoy my working system, Hey Ingo! Could you send me your version? I've been thinking about working it into SELMA and sending the patch into RT -- since they asked if anybody had SELMA patches to contribute. I'd sure like to get real names back into the mix, and *somebody* needs to do it! ;-) Thanks! [REBOL] full names in sender Re:(2)
Here's a few notes I had on other suggested improvements to SELMA. Most of them aren't my own. -- Put a line at the end of each email, showing how to unsubscribe. For example: "To unsubscribe from this list, send an email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject line containing only UNSUBSCRIBE." Add a header to each email, that says something like: x-unsubscribe: blah blah blah Then some email clients can show how to automatically unsubscribe. Allow common mis-spellings to mean the same as "UNSUBSCRIBE". For example, "unsubsribe" - missing the "c". If the first word of the email _body_ is "unsubscribe" or a close misspelling, allow that to act as a unsubscribe request. Administrator email dialect to allow an administrator to tell SELMA to unsubscribe someone. Have a web page to request subscription _and_ unsubscription. A confirmation email would be sent to the email address to request confirmation of un/subscription. Add the email address: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Any emails to that address, unsubscribe the sender. fix the problem in SELMA, that unsubscribes people who have subject lines like: unsubscribe problems with SELMA and people. Also include message number in footer? list-? for other commands. "thread" to retrieve thread to-date (LIST-thread@). - For another copy of this message, refer to MSG #12345.
