Would also be nice if the "Tools" menu actually worked (I click, nothing
happens).

One site I tested got rendered without styles but the same site looks just
fine with BrowsrCamp.com.

Interesting.

I had some problems with Swift and had to uninstall it. I think it had
to do with the face that it's just too young and buggy right now. The
live CD option sounds a lot better.

Does anyone know where to get swift?

An alternative for you Windows folks -- Webkit was based on and is
still a close cousin of KHTML, the rendering engine in KDE's
Konqueror. Lots of Linux live CDs will let you run Konqueror from a
CD. Knoppix comes to mind (and it's handy to have a copy of that
anyway for performing surgery on Windows) but any of them that run
Konqueror will allow you to test how your pages render in a
KHTML-based browser.

Felix, I would like a copy of the msi.

It was I, not Felix, who has it. I received a couple of requests for
it, so I put it up online.

2006-10-10 Thread michael.brockington
That would appear to be a completely different beast, despite the
similarity of name.

When I tried the Safari-based Swift a month or so ago, I was able to
install it okay, but there seemed to be no way to configure a proxy,
which made it completely useless.

[WSG] swift - only windows browser with a webkit?

2006-10-10 Thread info
Hi,
I got this idea from the 'Wow, if only everyone did this' conversation.
Swift seems to be the only Windows browser with a webkit, making it an
idea to test websites for mac-compatibility if you don't have a mac.
But any link I found so far to download this new, open source web browser
leeds to www.getswift.org which refuses the connection.
Does anyone know where to get swift?

Thanx,
Daniela
