I am using Mozilla 1.0 and I installed it in my user directory instead of in the /usr/local or something. Then I just followed the Flash installation instructions and it works fine. I also tried an older flash plugin with Netscape 6.x with the same setup and it works also. I don't install in /usr/local because Netscape has some problems when installed as root and shared for all users. Since only I use the computer, I just install it in my home directory. --jc -- Jimen Ching (WH6BRR) [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Red Hat 7.1, 7,2 and 7.3 actually come with the Flash plugin as part of the Netscape package, but it is a very old version that they aren't allowed to upgrade due to licensing problems. Not like the current new version is any better or anything. It is still incredibly unstable and completely unusable for LTSP thin clients, while supporting only Flash version 5. That may be true that Flash5 exists within the Netscape Plugin but for some reason my daughter goes to zoogdisney.com and it always states that the Flash5 has to be downloaded. I did exactly what the instructions stated to do and still doesnt recognize the Flash5 as a plugin for the Netscape. Unfortunately shes become a Bill Gates fan simply because Uncle Bill allows her to play zoogdisney. How can I argue my way out of that?!

Oops, forgot to mention how to install it. 1) Download the latest flash_linux.tar.gz from Macromedia. 2) tar xfvz flash_linux.tar.gz 3) Find /usr/lib/BROWSERNAME/plugins/ where BROWSERNAME is your browser. Netscape, Mozilla and Opera for Linux work this way. 4) Move the two flash files from the flash_linux directory that you unpacked into this plugin directory. Do not move the flash_linux directory, just the two files. Might need to completely restart your browser.
