I don't know about omi but most of it is edited by the german publisher Trekel who have a web page. It's divided into several publications. All of them edited by Joachim Domning. (among them the complete works by Hagen, Falckenhagen which are omited from the augsburg collction and he also seperatly published the chamber music as "sammelhefte") Thomas "Michael Thames" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> am 15.03.2005 16:50:23 An:"Roman Turovsky" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>, "Lute net" Kopie: Thema: Re: 18 th century chamber music A few people have asked me about the 18th century chamber music. Re: 18 th century chamber music
Thomas, Thanks a great deal, you've answered all my questions. I just got this edition so I will play through as much as I can in the next few weeks. I would love to hear your MP3, it would give me a good impression of the music, as well as perhaps getting my son and violin teacher excited to play it. I happen to like the typical " gallantire- peices" hence why I ordered the Baron in the first place. I've herad of Robbie Robertson , but not Robbe Williams. However, I love an earworm! Yes, the duet by Corignaini is in this edition. I will work on an arrangment with his teacher, for cello. The vurtiosso quaulity presents no problem to me (just kidding) Thanks again! Re: 18 th century chamber music
I forgot to mention that Baron names Meussel as one of the outstanding composers of his time. The piece in this collection really is good. Thomas Am Samstag, 12. Re: 18 th century chamber music
Hi Michael, I have this edition, too. It contains some nice pieces. We played the Meussel from it and I played the Kuehnel in duet with a Cello, too (some parts are *very* virtuoso pieces). The Cello had to do many adjustments because the range of a gamba is very different from that of a cello. I should have some recordings of that piece as well as a recording of the Meussel. All done during rehearsals but to give an impression maybe okay ... I could send some mp3. The pieces by Blohm are nice solo pieces. typical "gallanterie-pieces". I like them although those who only want the "perfect quality" won't like that kind of music. It's something like late baroque chart breaker music, some roccoco Robbie Williams music (I've heard he wouldn't be well known in the US, is this true?) Bass means at that time any instrument, be it a cello, be it viola da gamba, be it what's available. Isn't the baroque lute duet by Corigniani also in that collection (for 2 baroque lutes and bass)? Tell me, if you want the mp3 or have detailed questions. Best regards Thomas Am Freitag, 11.
