1.6.3svn bug: Spellchecking -> blank window, unless there are mis-spellings
Pressing F7 or using tools->spellchecker brings up a blank spellcheck window. If the document is correctly spelt, then the "x words checked" box comes up, and the dialog remains blank. blank, or even not-filled-in , i.e. the window manager draws a frame and inside it some old screen contents still shows. This works better if there are speling errors, the dialog then fills in with the usual suggestions. Helge Hafting

I think that this is a problem only for Windows, where man is not available. So, the Windows packagers simply could provide a html version of the man pages. On Mac, saving preferences results in *all* open document windows cycling through: View Outline > View Source > (un)View Outline > (un)View Source This also happens when returning from full screen view to normal view, but here (a) it happens only to the frontmost window and (b) it seems to have a point in the case of View Outline since (on Mac) it's switching from having the outline appear as a docked widget (in full screen view) to having it appear as a drawer (in normal view). However, I don't see why View Source is toggled on and off in this situation. Bennett
Bug in 1.6.3svn: The main window moves when I apply preferences
I noticed a little oddity today. When I apply preferences, the main window jumps a little up and to the left. This doesn't always happen, so may be hard to reproduce. Clearly, the window must not be maximized, and it seems like LyX should be started with "restore window layout and geometries" set. A small problem, but it looks like LyX is doing some unnecessary work here. Helge Hafting

With man2html /path/to/manpage.1 > manpage.html you are done. man2html is already present in any linux system and can be easily compiled for any other platform. It is included in the man source package and can be compiled and installed as easily as tar zxvf man-1.6f.tar.gz cd man-1.6f ./configure -default make manhtml cd man2html install -m 755 man2html /usr/local/bin install -m 644 man2html.1 /usr/local/man/man1/man2html.1 -- Enrico
Translation questions about colors settings for math macros
The color settings have several settings for math macros, that I don't understand. I have no idea what these two are, so I cannot translate: math macro blended out math macro hovered frame These two I can translate, but it'd nice to know what "old" and "new" parameters means in this context: math macro new parameter math macro old parameter I tried math macros briefly. They have parameters, but I didn't notice anything about "new" or "old" ones. Helge Hafting

I believe it should be very easy to adapt the plaintext text backend to output reStructuredText optionally. That would be an excellent startup project for a wanabee LyX developper :-) Abdel.

Translation breaks ALT+P*2 (section*) help needed
When using LyX with LANG=C, I can set the "section*" type with ALT+P * 2 and set "section" using ALT+P 2 When I use LyX with LANG=nb_NO.UTF-8, the latter still works but the former breaks. When I type the asterisk, I get an asterisk in the document instead of selecting the starred paragraph types. Unfortunately, I cannot see why. I maintain the Norwegian translation, so I would like to fix this bug before the 1.6.3 release, along with some other translation improvements. My guess is that there is some ALT+P-related string that gets ruined by translation. Or it might be a translation mistake that fails to preserve some special character. Do anybody know what string it might be? Is this a known problem? Helge Hafting
