Cursor painting gets stuck if space before end of inset

2024-04-11 Thread Scott Kostyshak
To reproduce:

1. Open the attached file.
2. Put the cursor just after "testing" and before the space.
3. Press .

Result: it looks like the cursor is frozen for a second.

Similarly, if after (3) you do another quick you can see two
cursors painted for a split second.

Can anyone reproduce?

trac accounts

2024-04-11 Thread Pavel Sanda
Hi all,

we tried to open our trac for registration again and got thousands of new
accounts during last weeks. Tonight those accounts started creating bug
reports which were essentially ads.

I banned the registration (again) and made big cleanup. trac interface
is unfortunately such that large part had to be done manually and thus
error-prone. I probably removed few real accounts. If you can't login,
it's probably my mistake and let me know to re-create it.

I think it’s new.

If you have time to make a video I would be interested to see it because I
cannot reproduce on X (I have to try Wayland).

Yes, I made two videos - one for 2.3.6.2 and one for 2.5 (master):

Thanks for the videos. It was not clear to me that the issue was when
splitting at bottom. Is it with yesterday's commit 83e7c74f6b4ce06936?

I believe that is a known Wayland issue. The only way to fix it is to
edit or remove .config/lyx/lyx.conf, or some such file.

Very clear videos that you can reproduce on 2.5dev but not 2.3.6.2.

I can't reproduce the issue, but I also can't redock my outline window.
Meaning, no matter where I drag it, it doesn't snap to anywhere. I've
never tried to do it before, so I don't know if it's a wayland/linux
issue.

On the 2.3.x branch I can't find any "lyxgetknowncmakestd".
I have CMake 3.28.0

Thanks for testing. Both for the math and the minibuffer examples? (this is
what I see, but I want to be sure).

The problem is that most of the biginset branch was developed and debugged
using the xcb platform, and it has very different behavior from Wayland (or
macOS, actually).

Ok, so I’ll do some testing too :)

The first effect I’ve noticed:
1. open outline
2. change docked to floating window
3. move back to „sensitive“ area but don’t dock the window
4. the target place for dock-widget remains unused until one scrolls the work
area

Is it new to master (i.e., the biginset branch)?

If you have time to make a video I would be interested to see it because
I cannot reproduce on X (I have to try Wayland).

But obviously the detail of when repaint occur depends on the platform,
so I would not be surprised to see issues on macOS or windows.

BTW since I inadvertedly broke windows installs (dictionary URLs need

number of unique attempts to download sets of dictionaries. It gives ~50 win
installs requesting at least 1 dictionary per day during last 20 days.

We never had any idea about the order of magnitude of our reach,
this gives some approximation to ~18k win installs per year...

That's huge ! I am very surprised.

Bug in language conversion ?

2024-04-11 Thread Jean-Pierre Chrétien

Dear Developers

When I select section 4.10.1.1 in the French copy of Additional.lyx and convert
it to French, I see that the optional argument of the list items remain
untranslated. This trigger compilation errors like :

Missing \endscname inserted

because of the \foreignlanguage{} encapsulating the argument of the optional
command.

This happens also at other places, where optional arguments are not translated.
I can provide a more complete record about Additional.

Please check ./development/cmake/modules/LyXMacros.cmake:471
In the function lyxgetknowncmakestd() we use the info from cmake to get the
correct c++
level (if the cmake version >= 3.9)

OTOH, if your cmake version is less 3.9, we try to check for 98, 11 and 14.
If that is the case for you, you could select your own values.
