Hi all, I decided to switch from lyx 1.0.4 to lyx 1.1.4pre2 to check to newest feature... I compiled from source the tarball and all compiled OK. Our school have Abdel students from a lot of West African countries and I'm Abdel trying to influence them so that they use Lyx instead of Abdel word. I'm doing the same with my African colleagues by Abdel giving them some courses about Unix and Lyx. There's not a Abdel lot of Lyx users around here for now, but the number is Abdel increasing, I guess (hope) that the students will start to Abdel advocate the use of linux and lyx when they go back to Abdel their countries. Here, the choice is clear: it is almost Abdel impossible to use our very old computers with win95 and Abdel word, whereas Linux and Lyx perform rather well. I really hope that linux (and to a lesser extent LyX) will help computing in Africa. It has been predicted for some time, but I find that it takes a lot of time to take off... It's a pity.
