It's a great program! Good idea! The best printer driver for this is the Generic Postscript driver directly from Adobe. Look at: ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/printerdrivers/win The 4.x directory contains the drivers for Win9x, the 5.x is for NT. Gruezi, Martin
HINT for those of you who work with Linux & Windoze
Hi everybody: I've been reading several messages lately about image conversion under Windoze, this is a little trick I've used with success to convert *any* sort of document, graphic or whatever to Postscript. You just have to install another printer to your Windoze box, choose a PS Printer and specify its output to a file by default. Now all you got to do is print any documento or graphic you want to convert to PostScript through this PS printer driver. The output PS file can be edited with any Corel, Photoshop, gimp, xv or the like program. You choose the platform!! Now you can use it with LyX!! See you! Help with fancyhdr style and foot notes!
Hello everybody! I am trying to increase the separation between the last line of text in a page and the line above the footnotes. To my perception, they are very close each other. I've printed and read carefully the dvi documentation, fancyhdr.dvi. It seems that the only "distance" you can change is \footruleskip. The documentation states that the only way of doing this is by redefining \footrule. Please, could anybody who knows a little bit of Latex tell me how to do so? Well, there isn't a higher resolution listed, but when i edited the box to 600x600, the resolution came out better, but all the text was squashed together with almost no space between lines. But at least it was better quality. -jm - He who laughs last... obviously didn't get the joke.

Is there any way to get that level of quality? What kind of printer do you use? Maybe you are used to a 600 dpi laser print out and managed somehow to configure LyX/dvips/... to use 300 dpi. In fact, for other encodings the default is what we use now.
I'll change to use \textasciixxx in those two places.

OK, wild speculation: do you use french style for your document? In this case, you have to make sure that you use a latex format which is created for babel and not for franch.sty. I'm not sure what I ask makes much sense to you, but I can assure you that using the wrong latex format can cause a lot of interesting consequences. However, having an example .lyx file which causes you problems (along with the corresponding .tex and the .log file produced by LaTeX) would help immensely. JMarc

Please use the following in your .lyx/lyxrc file: \html_command "tth -t < '$$FName' > '$$OutName'" Hope this helps, JMarc
HTML export
Hi everybody, Maybe I missed something, but when I saw, lyx was exporting HTML :-) I should say, it is a nice addition to a nice text processor. Then I upgraded lyx to v. 1.1.2 in my Red Hat 6.0/i686 installation and the feature didn't work (lyx returned the message that the file was successfully created, but there was no file at all in my hard disk). Then I remembered that maybe I should install tth first to get my documents converted, and I did it using Sylvan's rpm. The lyx feature still didn't work and I re-ran ./configure and the make(s). During the ./configure action I observed that the script found tth in my system. No matter what I do, lyx returns now the message "unable to convert to HTML". The weird thing is that tth is working fine (I am able to convert manually my lyx-generated tex files). I'm suspecting of some configuration problem, but I couldn't find any mention to HTML export in the documentation. Do someone has a clue of what I'm doing wrong? Thanks in advance, Claudio Schoen
