Re: Bug in LyX
This doesn't happend on my LyX, too - if I doesn't press the "keep" option to get vertical space at the beginning of a page. I got it fix by adding a symbolic link of the libc.so.5.1.12 to /lib/libc.so.5. But now I have a new problem. After I execute lyx, a dialog comes out and ask to create a personal directory to keep the configuration. I click on yes, and then a alert comes out says "Error: Could not change to directory /root/.lyx/ Success" and I click on dismiss. Then the following appear on the shell: lyx: SIGSEGV signal caught Sorry, you have found a bug in LyX. If possible, please read 'Known bugs' under the Help menu and then send us a full bug report. Window bug
Perhaps this is already well known: In LyX 1.0.3pre4 the preamble window behaves strangely if you enlarge it and you have so much text in it so the scroll bars are present. If you enlarge the window horizontally, the scroll bar on the right-hand side goes really freaky. If you enlarge it vertically, the bottom scroll bar behaves strangely, and if you enlarge it so that it reaches over to another screen, and then decrease it back to the first screen, LyX seems to crash and quit. The same happens if you decrease the window sufficiently much horizontally. /Alex
Bug in LyX
LyX seems to forget a character on exporting as LaTeX: a paragraph with above (or below) keeping vertical spaces is exported as \vspace*{big...} instead of \vspace*{\big...} This seems to happen on all \vspace* - commands. (Tested with LyX 1.0.1pre... and LyX 1.0.2) Ralf

Document class
Hallo I'm writing my thesis and use lyx. The document class that I use is book. The specifications for my thesis is that only one side of the page is printed. With the book class the even page numbers are on the left of the page and the text is also a bit more to the left and not in the center. The odd page numbers are on the right side and the text are also more to the right and not in the center. Another thing is that between each chapter there is a blan page. What I'd like is that all the text on all the pages must be in the middle op the pages as well as the page numbers. And I also want to get rid of all the blank pages between chapters. We have had reports of crashes in xforms when pasting some times ago, but we could not reproduce/fix them at the time. I guess it is a bug in xforms. If you still have the xforms distribution, it would be interesting to try it out with one of the demos there, for example minput.c (just do "make minput" in the DEMOS directory, and then "./minput"). Hi, I want to have bold typewriter letters. The dvi-file is ok. But in the ps-file everthing is plain. What happened? Is there a solution to this problem? LinuxPPC Dev. Rel 1.0/LyX 1.0.2 problem
Hi! After running fix961212 on the forms library I was able to compile and install LyX 1.0.2 on my LinuxPPC 1.0 system (linux 2.2.6, glibc2), but I have a strange problem which might actually be a C library related (therefore posting two both lists). The problem is that LyX does not re-make a tex file after changes. I added some debug output and could see that (in the Dep stuff) LyX tries to get the checksums of the file /home/albrecht/test.tex (if the lyx file is /home/albrecht/test.lyx) and NOT in the directory /tmp//test.tex (where this file actually exists). As fopen failes, the checksum is always 0. This does NOT happen on my Intel/Linux box... I did not want to dig deeper into the code, but I think I should add that the call to GetCWD always returns an empty string. As a quick solution, I disabled the tmp stuff in lyxrc, but I would like to fix this problem. Thanks for any help, Albrecht. -- +-+ | Dr.-Ing. standard environment ...
Hi there, I need a redefinition of the Standard- layout in article.layout (stdclass.inc). # Standard style definition Style Standard MarginStatic LatexType Paragraph LatexName dummy ParIndent MM ParSkip 0.4 Align Block AlignPossible Block, Left, Right, Center LabelType No_Label End I want left alignment in Standard Style, so I set Align to Left but no effect. The Standard Style is after the reconfigure in Menu Layout Paragraph Left, also the LyX-Window displays left alignment but in the print and the dvi there is block alignment. So what can I do? Bye Sven
German Umlaute in math mode.
Thanks for the tip, you gave me. I use the unlabelled lines for explaining variables. Unfortunately I can't type any german umlaute in the math mode. And simply copying from the text is also not possible :-| Does anyone know a solution? Thanks Steffen Herbert wrote: > In a formula we can insert new lines with Ctrl-Enter.
