Hope this help. Bye [Hope it OK I am Cc'ing to the LyX list.] After looking at the latex output, I saw that this was a Latex problem, and found the extact text you describe in the Usenet archives, added it for Preface, and it works great. Nice trick. [I have Lamports book and the LaTeX Companion on order, so I should be asking fewer questions in the future. Also, I will be try to mention LyX/LaTeX in the Preface somewhere.] However, I couldn't figure out how to get put the Latex inline code in the bibliography. I can put it before the bibliography starts, but that doesn't help because it shows the wrong page number. I can put it at the end of the bibliography, but that doesn't work if the bibliography is more than one page in length. While my original problem was LaTeX-related, this may be LyX-specific. My solution was to put \addcontentsline...{} as TeX-Style just before the first bibliographic entry, so it reads: [1]\addcontentsline...{}Author, Title ^ TeX-style here Seems like that is the solution. -- Bruce Momjian| http://www.op.net/~candle [EMAIL PROTECTED]| (610) 853-3000 + If your life is a hard drive, | 830 Blythe Avenue + Christ can be your backup.| Drexel Hill, Pennsylvania 19026

This is useful when you have added the bibliography to the toc, but have appendecies following the bibliography and want the page numbers on them to be correct, as I found out recently. Tony

RE: support for strange characters
That is quite a difficult task as you will need to use MetaFont which is not easy to learn. Your best bet is to ask in comp.text.tex if someone knows where to find such font sets and then come back and ask how to use them :-). I bet this isnt easy to implement in LyX. Hi! I use LyX Version 1.04. I built it using the make file generated by automake/autoconfig. It installed quite well. However, I have a small problem but can't determine whether it is LyX's fault or something else. Here are my specifications: * the printer is a Hewlett Packard DeskJet 600; I'm running it as a post script enabled printer. Star Office and Netscape print successfully to it * I'm running RedHat 6.0 stock kernel custom rebuilt * I run GNOME and Enlightenment * I use A4 paper My problem is this: I create a document using the "Linux Document" format. I then convert the document to post script and view it with gv. I can guaranteee that the bottom paragraph simply "dissapears". I suspect it's being printed below the bottom of the A4 sheet. I have tried the following unsuccesfully: * increasing the bottom margin using layout to 1 inch, 2 inches and even further * manually entering the size of the A4 paper into the paper dialog * saving as sgml, converting to latex, converting from latex to dvi, converting from dvi to ps (majorly round about but anything's worth a try at least once) * coping, but telling the program printing the paper size I find LyX an excellent program except it will be absolutely useless to me if I can't fix this problem. New Prerelease lyx-1.1.1pre2
I have released the second prerelease for lyx-1.1.1, now most installation issues have been resolved and we have a new feature: - export as HTML Other than that there are no new features compared to 1.0.4, code cleanup is in progress and so far we have: - migrated to useing automake in additon to autoconf - moved to a std::string equivalent - moved to use DebugStream - removed pathstack and used class path from 1.1. instead. There are no problems to be expected with this prerelease, but there might be installation glitches that can wreck havoc...so be warned (and careful) We have only some compilation issues to solve before 1.1.1 proper is released.
Margins
Has anyone any suggestions? DL -- Subscribe to the Linux C Mailing Lists Today! mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] http://users.senet.com.au/~lloy0076/linux_c_programming/index.html
The roadmap for future improvements can be found at: http://www.devel.lyx.org/roadmap.php3 Get the prerelease from: ftp://www.lyx.org/pub/lyx/devel/lyx-1.1.1pre2.tar.gz ftp://www.devel.lyx.org/pub/lyx/lyx-1.1.1pre2.tar.gz Note that it untars to 1.1.1. Re: New Prerelease lyx-1.1.1pre2
Are there any plans soon to generalize \cite to \citet and \citep etc. (the forms supported in natbib)? The present form is very limited & not standard for published articles in many fields (such as astrophysics!) Thanks Gerald Cecil
