Open master.lyx, open the insert reference dialog, and return to chap1.lyx. Now, whenever you open the insert reference dialog in chap1.lyx, you will get a list of all labels in all the files. 2. Open chap2.lyx, open the insert reference dialog, and without closing the dialog, return to chap1.lyx, and then insert the reference. This doesn't work in LyX 1.1.6. 3. Minitoc for Appendix
Hello, What I want to do: I would like to have table of contents (TOC) for the chapters and sections of the appendix. It should be at the beginning of the appendix. I've tried to manage it with the minitoc package but failed as I didn't find a suitable solution. Here's the problem: * The listing of chapters with minitoc can only be done if I define the appendix being a part and use \parttoc. The definition part* didn't work - empty minitoc. * That part definition results in an entry of the 'normal' TOC in a more emphasised way than a chapter what I don't like (The appendix is really not of major importance). Furthermore, the words 'Part I.' are written above 'Appendix' :-( What can I do? Is there another way to have a minitoc with chapters listed? Or do I have to redefine the part environment to get rid of 'Part I.' and have a TOC entry like a chapter -- in this case what are the commands? I'm using version 1.1.5fix1. Hi All, When I accidentally add some 'Text after' to my citation, I double-click on the citation and delete this text (who wouldn't). But to my surprise, the 'OK' and 'Apply' buttons remain disabled. It is only after moving a key to the right-hand listbox and re-inserting it in the left-hand listbox it that these buttons become enabled. Is this me or a bug? And to stay with the citation references, I have following suggestion. Make it possible to tab into the lists and start typing the first few characters of your citation to select it. With a large list of citations (as is my case), it is painfull to have to scroll in the list the whole time. It would also be nice to be able to use, eg., ALT-arrow to control the actions of the buttons in the middle (ALT-left arrow to move a citation key to the left-hand listbox and ALT-right to bring it back to the right-hand listbox). While getting familiar with the new version of Lyx, I decided to go ahead and write up several of the ways to annotate included figures with Latex fonts (including math mode fonts). The instructions mostly deal with figures made using the Xfig program. Here is the compressed Postscript of the paper, http://www.datafilter.com/software/figuresInXfig.ps.gz and here is the tarred, gzipped source directory containing the Lyx file and the example Xfig files. http://www.datafilter.com/software/howToUseLatexMathWithXfig.tar.gz (The table of contents is not currently printing on my system; I'll put up a fixed compressed Postscript file if I get it working.) I hope someone will find this useful. Comments are welcome, but please CC me if you reply to the list since I read the list from the archives. Allen Barker

citation references
I'm using lyx1.6fix1. Eric e-Mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] PGP fingerprint: 17C6 528E 3018 F44A 596B 203B B344 9377 BD6D 3B64

paper on using Latex to annotate Xfig figures
While getting familiar with the new version of Lyx, I decided to go ahead and write up several of the ways to annotate included figures with Latex fonts (including math mode fonts). If tables are really better centered; then someone should go ahead and look for a package that centers tables automatically in LaTeX. The LyX could support it. Suppose that your files are master.lyx, chap1.lyx, chap2.lyx, and you want to insert a label from chap2.lyx to chap1.lyx. There are three methods: 1. This doesn't work in LyX 1.1.6. 3. In LyX 1.1.6, type M-x reference-insert ref|++||++| where is the required label.

Here's the problem: * The listing of chapters with minitoc can only be done if I define the appendix being a part and use \parttoc. The definition part* didn't work -> empty minitoc. * That part definition results in an entry of the 'normal' TOC in a more emphasised way than a chapter what I don't like (The appendix is really not of major importance). Or do I have to redefine the part environment to get rid of 'Part I.' and have a TOC entry like a chapter -- in this case what are the commands? I'm using version 1.1.5fix1. It is a book koma-script document. Thanks for your help. Martin
