LaTeX never does this.

In case of LyX there is some braindead hard-coded mapping in
src/paragraph_pimpl.C.

I know. The problem is that you've got enough things to fix and at this
stage I will most likely report duplicate bugs. On the other hand, CVS
is changing fast and I won't update as frequently as you guys. After
most of the easy-to-see bugs have been fixed, (say in a close to alpha

Purely my personal opinion though. I was discouraged in my first two

You can use a script like

so only lyx uses this LANG settings.

Maybe - just a hint - add a comment at the end of the 'configure' run,
in the table where the final config is shown (Front-end:Gnome),
add a warning there... This is one of the few places most people do
read, I think ;-)

About the rest. I'll have a real good look at the problem first. I don't
use Gnome or KDE either (I'm running IceWM at the moment). But I do

Yes, I have a similar problem - though, this must be a FAQ, so I haven't
given up trying to find the answer myself yet. (-: A "minimum font size
everywhere" option would do, as it's often how the requirement is stated
in formats you're trying to fit. Still, I want to mention that it would be
really nice if LyX had dialogs that let me set the fonts of all the
different bits of my document (titles, footnotes, etc.), although maybe
what I'm really asking for is a layout creation tool which is presumably a
much harder proposition. Maybe if I hunt through /usr/share/lyx/layouts/
more carefully it'll become clearer what I can do by hand! Are the
footnotes generated by a separate program (bibtex), then, and not
controlled in /usr/share/lyx/layouts/ ?

OT: problem with extracting images from pdf

2002-12-09 Thread Praedor Atrebates
In viewing a pdf the graphics appear fine, but when I extract the images using
pdfimages, the jpegs are OK but all the pbm or ppm images turn out with
reversed video (white is black and vice versa) but with the loss of SOME
information, ie, a plot loses its black plot lines (they are not reversed to
white, they either vanish or stay black - making them invisible with a black
background).

Is there a way to extract the images in a pdf without reverse video occurring?

Bindings

2002-12-09 Thread Nicolas Ferre'
Hi, LyX users,

I tried to introduce some bindings in LyX 1.2.1, but some of them does
not seem to work.
In ~/.lyx/bind/mybind.bind:

# Include menu and math bindings

\bind_file /usr/local/share/lyx/bind/cua.bind

# Accents
\bind "C-apostrophe""accent-acute"
\bind "C-comma" "accent-cedilla"
\bind "C-S-at" "accent-circle"
\bind "C-S-asciicircum" "accent-circumflex"
\bind "C-M-period" "accent-dot"
\bind "C-grave" "accent-grave"
\bind "C-S-asciitilde" "accent-tilde"
\bind "C-S-quotedbl""accent-umlaut"

After having activated these bindings in the lyx preferences, I can get
the acute, cedilla, circumflex, tilde accents but none of the others.

Any idea of what can I do ?

Other little question: when I start lyx, I always get the message:
"Invalid input style". What does it mean exactly ?
