Why does my LyX convert all images every time it compiles the file?
Hi, I'm using LyX 1.3.7-3 to edit a file I created using 1.3.5 last year. I have both EPS and PDF versions of my figures in the same directory. With 1.3.5, I seem to remember it doesn't convert my EPS files if PDF files are present. (I didn't specify extensions for my figure files and I use pdflatex.) However, with 1.3.7-3, LyX converts all my EPS files to PDF every time I compile. This makes it significantly slower. I lost my old 1.3.5 setup during a laptop failure, so I'm hoping someone here with more experience can tell me if I'm missing something in my new setup. Thanks, Jinghua Zhong
Re: Page number Alignment
2006/5/30, Paul A. Rubin [EMAIL PROTECTED]: If you want the page number bottom right on every page, some of this can be simplified. (Menu instructions below follow the LyX 1.4.x layout, but the same can be done in LyX 1.3.x.) First, go to Document-Settings...-Page Layout-Page style: and set it to fancy. This takes the place of the \pagestyle{fancy} command. Add the other commands Andreas recommended to the preamble (although you only need the ones with empty arguments, such as \cfoot{}, if there's something in the header or footer you want to turn off, such as a centered page number in the footer). I don't think you will need to add \thispagestyle{fancy} to the text. /Paul thanks it works... but not on every page... on the first page of the chapter, the pagenumber still align to center.. is there still a way to do it ?

You know that the boxes are not printed? -- so the printed pdf file has no color, but the links can still be used when read on screen. i tired citebordercolor option as above and also linkbordercolor=1 1 1 and colorlinks=false option but the it has no effect on the ouput. Also the bookmarks it not created. If you want to have colored links you have to set colorlinks=true (and maybe change the linkcolor, urlcolor etc. if the standard values are not what you want). If you want to have links, but black text without boxes, you have to set colorlinks=false and pdfborder={0 0 0} (i.e. a white box around the link, which is not visible on white paper) or colorlinks=true and linkcolor=black.
Rubin <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: If you want the page number bottom right on every page, some of this can be simplified. (Menu instructions below follow the LyX 1.4.x layout, but the same can be done in LyX 1.3.x.) First, go to Document->Settings...->Page Layout->Page style: and set it to fancy.
Chapter base Page numbering to TOC
hi, i'm using Report Document style i want my chapter look like this: Chapter I Chapter II Chapter III and the page number (for ex. Chapter 3 page 5) like this: III-5 i use this command in ERT: \renewcommand{\headrulewidth}{0pt} \rhead{} \lhead{} \rfoot{\thechapter-\thepage} \lfoot{} \cfoot{} but it only shows page number like: 3-5 and of course for the TOC, i want the page numbering shows . III-5 . III-6 is it possible? how to do that ? thanks...

To get the old behaviour back you can turn off the usage of a temporary directory in the preferences, but that has side effects. Note that that won't work with 1.4.x anymore. Georg

Re: How to import source codes
I use a program called "highlight" to highlight the source code, and all this is done by adding an external template (insert -> external template) In the file .lyx/external_templates I add Template CppKod GuiName "[C++ $$Basename]" HelpText Snyggar till C++ kod HelpTextEnd FileFilter "*" ViewCommand "nedit $$FName" EditCommand "nedit $$FName" AutomaticProduction true Format LaTeX Product "{\\small \\input{$$FName.tex} }" UpdateCommand "highlight -A -L -t 4 -I -S cpp -f -r -q $$FName -o $$FName.tex" UpdateResult "$$FName.tex" FormatEnd TemplateEnd and it works quite well for me. Dynamically also!
