If you can't spot something like that, try a bisection search. Cut out the second half of the slides (roughly), leaving in the final EndFrame, and see if it compiles. If yes, put back half what you cut; if no, cut half what you kept. Iterate until you home in on the culprit. /Paul
Re: hide bibliography section?
Do you use biblatex or standard bibtex for your references? If the former, simply omit the /printbibliography command at the end of the document. If the latter, put the Lyx-inserted bibliography inset at the end of the document into a Lyx-note inset (to keep access to refs through the citation dialogue) and add, in ERT, /nobibliography{/path/to/your/bib/file} S. __ Stefano Franchi Department of Philosophy Ph: (979) 862-2211 Texas A&M University Fax: (979) 845-0458 305B Bolton Hall fran...@philosophy.tamu.edu College Station, TX 77843-4237

hide bibliography section?
Hello Is there a way to hide the bibliography? I am currently working on a the summary to my thesis, and I would like to cite some works but at the same time avoid a bibliography section in the document (which would be useless since all the references are in the thesis, and both documents will be available to the reader). Currently I am writing the works in plain text, but I would prefer to do it the LyX way, via the citation dialogue. So, is it possible to insert citations in the document but still avoid having a bibliography section? something wrong with biblatex
Dear Lyxers, Something is going wrong with Biblatex which I've just discovered. I think Lyx is well configured, it recognizes the bib files and makes a final pdf file. But the pdf file shows the "Bibliography" title, without any references. In the preamble, I've put the entire .bib path, and I've tried exporting the .lyx file to a .tex file and to compile it with comand lines, result is the same. So surely I've made something wrong, but I don't know what... Thanks for your help! ST essai_biblio.lyx Description: application/lyx

Re: authorindex in LyX?
Sorry to be "spamming" but after sending my post I realized that it was a bit strange of me not to try what would happen without the multicols begin/end-pair, and just call \printauthorindex. When I remove the multi column stuff, no extra two pages are generated, which should probably be relevant for you people... But the main problem remains, of course. Best regards, Mats Mats Andrén wrote: Hello! I use LyX 1.6.4.1 for Mac OSX (10.5.8). I am rather new to LyX, and I am not a fluent LaTeX speaker in general, and for this reason, I am not that sure what information is of relevance to you, to be able to answer my question. Anyway: I am using the Book style, with XeTeX and unicode (enabled through the instructions about using XeTeX with LyX on MacOSX that are available on the LyX site). This works very well, and I have a bibliography generated, and an ordinary Index. I was trying to produce an author index now, and as I understand it, I have to make use of the authorindex package. So I put this in the preamble: %Enable author index functionality \usepackage{authorindex} \let\cite=\aicite In the document itself, I insert the following (after pressing CMD+L to make an "ERT" or whatever it is called): \begin{multicols}{2} \printauthorindex \end{multicols} (I should probably mention that I have multi columns working just fine, so that is not a problem) What happens now is that: - No (visible) author index is produced. - ...but two blank additional pages are added to the resulting PDF file (I use "doublepage"). - No errors are reported in LyX when generating the PDF So.. No errors, but no author index... When I read the manual for authorindex, it says that a perl script named "authorindex" should be executed on the .aux file. I managed to locate that script on my system, and I also tried to put it in the directory of the .lyx document that I am working with. But I guess the problem has something to do with this script, because I assume that it is never executed. So, if I understand the situation correctly, what my question really is, is: How to make LyX execute the authorindex perl script in a way that will allow me to produce an authorindex in my LyX document? Thank you in advance! ...and I have to add that LyX really rules. (It does seem to have a few bugs regarding the GUI though, but I will try that out some more.) Best regards, Mats Andrén

a question about the import function under Lyx 1.6.4.1 -- a further remark
Dear list members and developers, I have completely removed Lyx 1.6.4.1 from my laptop this afternoon. Then I installed the older version Lyx 1.6.3. A reminder: my operating system is Windows XP with Service Pack 3. I have been using MiKTeX 2.8 with WinEdt for about two months. My Miktex installation is complete. Problems (a) During installation the standard installer did not realize again that Miktex 2.8 had already been installed: I was promoted to give the path to the c:\Program Files\MiKTeX 2.8\miktex\bin library. (b) After installation I made an attempt importing some standard LaTeX documents created by WinEdt. In this case everything worked fine, i.e., I could import all the LaTeX files I had been unable to import under Lyx 1.6.4.1. There arises again the question: what is the problem with Lyx 1.6.4.1. If there is no problem with version 1.6.4.1 what have i done wrong earlier? Any remark or help is highly appreciated. Sincerely yours G. Szeidl -- I am using the free version of SPAMfighter.
