Re: Table question: what is column width?
Hi, Thank you, .. I have been jumping though hoops to control my text width within a cell ( inserting boxes into cells - argh)... your question cause me to try your example out and with a little paying around I've learnt something. Anyway the way I see it (and I could be wrong), is that width you changed to 25% possibly would read better being labelled "text width" - not column width In the lyx file I've returned to you I have set an overall table width to 100%, and treated the columns width as text width. even though my "column" widths dont add up to 100% the table width is still 100% Notice that cell 3 is only 8% and looks like cells 2 & 4 have extra 'margins' to be visually appealing, if you put cell width back to 20% you will see those extra 'margins' in cells 2 & 4 magically disappear. I'd say you can't set 25% for all the 'column' widths as think of it as 'text' width than add some margin so text is not crowded on border you will soon notice 4*( 25% text + margins + borders) > 100% Cheers Steve On 03/04/13 09:00, Csikos Bela wrote: Hello: I have trouble width tables again. It seems that not the whole column width is defined by this, since the overall width is more than 100%. What does column width define exactly then? For support of Hebrew, you can install "texlive-collection-langhebrew". If you use the opensuse packages, manual running texhash or something like that is not needed. In the lyx windows, both are. However, I tinkered with the latex output: %% LyX 2.0.5.1 created this file. For more info, see http://www.lyx.org/. %% Do not edit unless you really know what you are doing. \documentclass[english]{article} \usepackage[T1]{fontenc} \usepackage[latin9]{inputenc} \PassOptionsToPackage{normalem}{ulem} \usepackage{ulem} \usepackage{babel} \begin{document} \uline{\Huge abc def} \end{document} If I group the argument of the next to last line and change it to: \uline{\Huge {abc def}} it works as it should. Re: Splitting a table
On 25. mars 2013 21:17, Matthias Schmidt wrote: Hello! Has lyx a command for splitting an existing large table in two parts? I cannot find something for that. No, but you can create another table and cut&paste half of the old table into it. But what is the real problem here? If you merely need to split a table across pages, then LyX can do that automatically. Bring up the table dialog, and check the "longtable" option. A "long table" will stay in one piece if it happens to fit on the page. But it will be broken up if it reaches the page bottom, and continue on the next page. You can have it automatically repeat the headings on the next page if you wish. A really long table may span many pages. This is usually the best approach, as the breaking point(s) will be adjusted as needed if you add more lines in front of your table - or change the page size later.

hebrew font
I have installed the culmus package, to get the hebrew font for latex (texlive release in opensuse 12.3), yet i cannot print files in hebrew. I guess the culmus package has not been installed properly, so that hebrew fonts cannot be found. Below, latex message attached. Any help? Thank you Paolo M --- enc \begin{document} I wasn't able to read the size data for this font, so I will ignore the font specification.
