No. I have done all the current updates, and the only way I can get the drop menus working is to change the language into any language and then change it back again. The drop menus then work fine until you shut down LyX and the next time you open it up you have to do the same thing again. (As easy helpfully pointed out to me.) When Ubuntu 15.04 is officially released this Thursday and LyX users all over the world up grade their Ubuntu systems, you will probably hear lots of cries for help with this bug. I use LyX everyday to write a novel and desperately need to export to, save, update, and view pdflatex files. These functions worked fine in LyX before the upgrade to version 2.1.3. I have tried to reinstall both LyX and TexLive packages to no avail. Any suggestions or help would be much appreciated! (I consider LyX as indispensable to my work product.) Thank you in advance.

Lyx crashes in Hardy Heron
I have installed lyX 1.53 from the Ubuntu 8.4 repositories. But it frequently crashes when accessing lyx document files on my computer. Is this a bug that is fixed with lyX 1.55? And how do I install it? (It isn't in the repositories.) If someone could let me know how to proceed I would be grateful. Thanks!

Thanks, Paul. I found that out yesterday, and under document-settings-Document class-drop down list there it was! Appreciate the help from everyone on the list. The yes in the config dialog means that (a) LyX knows it has a Memoir layout and (b) it found the Memoir class file, so you should have book (Memoir) in the Document - Settings... - Document Class - Document class drop-down list.
