directories
After installing some versions of LyX there are several directories on my harddisk, just like $home/.lyx/... /usr/share/lyx/... /usr/share/texmf/tex/latex/lyx Some tex-classes, which are corresponding to the lyx-layouts are installed in /usr/share/lyx/tex/ AND /usr/share/texmf/tex/latex/lyx. I don't found any hint in the lyxrc-file which directory is the right one. My LyX-version 1.1.4pre1 chooses the .../latex/lyx directory, so I suggest that the /usr/share/lyx/tex - directory is obsolete. Am I right?? hi, please have a look at the atachement demo.lyx . open all floats and go to a blank line between a flaot and the beginning of a new section or subsection (for example 2.1 or 4. or 4.2), than press enter and lyx crashes. if you close all floats and do the same all works well, because the "blank line" exists only if the floats are opened. whats's happened? herbert -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.perce.de

table orientation

cut and paste tables
1. lyx creates tables with the following parameters \added_space_top 0.3cm \added_space_bottom 0.3cm \align center \LyXTable ... i dont't know why, but i got some tables with \align center \LyXTable ... is it possible to change these parameters within lyx, or have i to patch the sourcefile ... ;-) 2. sometimes i move tables from a floating environment to a nonfloating one. it's just a little bit complicated to cut and paste the table. from my point of view it's a good idea to delete the table from lyx (double mouseclick from table menu) in a buffer so that I can paste the deleted table. i could correct all of the new error messages of 1.1.4fix3, which doesn't appered in 1.1.4fix1 or older: 1. problems, when tex-code and latex-paragraph combined, like first line in tex, next line latex-paragraph. all appears in red 2. \footnotemark with a following \footnotetext{..} outside does not work in caption of floating objects (in cells of tables it's ok). i did it with \footnote{...}. 3. same with \footnotemark for parameters for functions, like \lst{parameter1}{parameter2\footnotemark}. \footnote{..} did it too. 4. wrong mathmode in pspicture-environment: \rput{\mathbf{$...}$}. correct is \rput{$$} Herbert -- [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://perce.de/voss

bibtex-file
i had an error in my bib-file, which lyx (latex) reported well. I corrected this in my bib-file and run lyx-show-dvi again. the same error ... i had to close and reopend the file again, than all works well. from my point of view it's lyx forget to run bibtex again! it's easy to reproduce this error: - choose any bibtex-file and give a title-entry a "&" (without \) - insert in lyx-file bibtex-reference - run lyx-showDVI - correct the bibtexentry to ... \& ... - run lyx-showDVI again happy easter to all of you :-) Herbert
