Compile error in Solaris

2000-03-20 Thread Jerry Yuan

Hi there,

LyX 1.1.4 seems can only be compiled under Solaris 2.6 and above.
Under 2.4 and 2.5. I get a message attached below.

Since majority of our system still quite old, is there a way to
solve this problem?

Thank you very much,
Jerry

Is Multipart Doc working?

1999-09-10 Thread Jerry Yuan

Hi there,

I am writing my thesis at the moment. Multipart doc doesn't work.
I used Insert-Include File-use include my lyx files in the master
file. I got a box there. But view dvi or view postscript doesn't
include anything in.

Is anything wrong? I am using lyx 1.0.4pre6 on a Solaris 2.4 box.

Thanks,
Jerry

Hi Jerry,

I saw this behavior with my thesis when one of the included files was
defines as a different doc type--I had an appendix in 'book' format wheras
the rest of my document is in 'report'. All I had to do was change the
appendix to 'report' in the appropriate dialog. Hopefully this will help
you.

Cheers. Syrus.

It works Thanks a lot. My include file was a 'article'. After changed it
to book, it works great.

Thanks,

Hi

I use a several mapping packages (GRASS and GMT) which produce
postscript output with a bounding box, which surrounds the map portion
of a map, but not always the annotations on the outside. These are
however there. Placing these into a LyX document doesn't always have the
desired effect - annotations fall off the page or continue over the
text. Is there a way to fix this?

Jerry It IS a bug in xforms. I followed your words, and get same

That's very intersting. Could you tell me exactly what steps you took
to get this behaviour and what system you use (OS, X version, xforsm

1) open 2 xterms;
2) start minput from xterm 1;
3) select something from xterm 2, and paste it to minput --- fine, here;
4) close xterm 2;
5) paste again there are two possibilities:
A) minput crash..
B) paste not performed, however, you can paste in xterm 1

Sorry, I can not make it crash exactly, but B is not correct as well.

Re: latex_preamble+'mouse_middle_button'=LyX_crash!

1999-05-26 Thread Jerry Yuan

I do not know what to say here. We have had reports of crashes in
xforms when pasting some times ago, but we could not reproduce/fix
them at the time. I guess it is a bug in xforms. If you still have the
xforms distribution, it would be interesting to try it out with one of
the demos there, for example minput.c (just do "make minput" in the
DEMOS directory, and then "./minput").

JMarc

It IS a bug in xforms. I followed your words, and get same crash.
paste in minput produces

X Error of failed request: BadAtom (invalid Atom parameter)
  Major opcode of failed request: 20 (X_GetProperty)

I do not know what to say here. We have had reports of crashes in
xforms when pasting some times ago, but we could not reproduce/fix
them at the time. I guess it is a bug in xforms. If you still have the
xforms distribution, it would be interesting to try it out with one of
the demos there, for example minput.c (just do "make minput" in the
DEMOS directory, and then "./minput").

It IS a bug in xforms. I followed your words, and get same crash.
paste in minput produces

X Error of failed request: BadAtom (invalid Atom parameter)

latex_preamble+'mouse_middle_button'=LyX_crash!

1999-05-24 Thread Jerry Yuan

I found LyX crashes when I am working with LaTeX preamble long
time ago. However, I could not repeat it. Now, I can do it anytime
as the following sequence:

1) make sure no text is high-lighted by mouse;
2) start LyX;
3) open a lyx file;
4) open latex preamble;
5) click mouse middle button;
6) crash..

The error message is
BadAtom (invalid Atom parameter)

It seems like when clipboard (or other I do know) is empty, copying a
NULL string causes it. Just my guess...

My current setting is lyx_1.0.3pre4/Solaris2.4

Cheers,
Jerry
