Fwd: ***SPAM*** How to start LyX in a maximized window

2006-08-05 Thread John Ward

For now, you can try this freeware utility:
http://www.southbaypc.com/AutoSizer/
. LyX is one of the applications I use it for.

It may not be worth the effort for just one application, but if there
are other stubborn apps that you use on an everyday basis, this
utility works great.

I am using LyX 1.4.1 under Windows.

Is it possible to change the settings such that LyX comes
up in a maximized window, rather than the semi-minimized window
as it does now? (Of course, maximization is only a mouse click away,
but still I would like to avoid this).

Wait for 1.5.0... the feature is already there.

As far as I know, I do not have ny sort of remapping or crazy application

Well, if it works in other apps, then it presumably has not been
remapped, so I'm at a loss as to what is going on. Are your machines

I'm having the same issue on XP Pro. Neither Lyx 1.4.1 or cmd.exe are killed

Re: timestamp of lyx files not updated in windows xp

It appears that I am having the same issue, but I hadn't noticed before. It
seems that the 'date modified' updates sometimes, but not every time that I
make changes. It also appears that when I over-write an existing pdf, the
date stays the same as the original as well. The 'accessed' dates are
updated. Strange. I'm also using XP (Pro) and lyx 1.4.1. This could be a
problem with back-ups.

Yes, you have forgotten the comma at the end of the italic line

Thank you. I really should have noticed that.

I also have the 'bibformat=ibidem' command set. It works well, but I am
getting duplicate authors listed with 'idem' and would like that

with the standard '---'. The documentation seems to be saying that the
dash should be the default, so I'm not sure what I can do to fix it.
Where, in the final bibliography or in the footnotes ?

I would like to have the dash in the bibliography. I looked over the

Finally, I'm can't seem to get the 'chicago' format command to work.
The chicago option in jurabib is broken.

Finally, I'm can't seem to get the 'chicago' format command to work. This
isn't a huge deal since oxford is close enough, but I'd like to know what
I'm doing wrong. I've included the jurabib section from my preamble below
(it is just a modified version of the suggested format suggested in the
humanities section of the lyxwiki---so the credit lies there, and the blame
is mine.
