Re: APA Style reference with url and lastchecked field does not show "Retrieved ..."
Hi Roberto, I finally got my url retrieved references worked out. I have one more question. I am using the \usepackage{url} in my preamble to brake urls well, but the urls are then displayed in a different font. Can I make the font of the urls appear the same? Table View Positioning Bug when Math Editor Field is focused
Hi, I recognized a table view positioning bug in lyx 1.5.2 when I work with a big table and want to enter a math formula. This means, when I make a table that is wider than my screen and than click on one of the right columns, the focus moves with the cursor to the right so this column is in the center of the focus. Now, if I want to enter a math formula and click the "Insert Math" button, the focus switches back to the very left column. I then have to enter the math formula without seeing what I enter. Is there a way to fix this? Best, Mirko
APA Style reference with url and lastchecked field does not show "Retrieved ..."
Hi, I have posted earlier about this topic but I still don't know where the problem is: So, I am using texlive2007 distribution in gentoo linux and lyx 1.5.2 with jabref 2.2. I also installed the texlive2007-bibtex-extra package to have the apacite package installed. I am trying to get a reference displayed the following way: Last, F (2007). Title. Retrieved October 21, 2007, from http://www.foo.bar My output only appears as follows: Last, F (2007). Title. The Retrieved-line is missing even though I have lastchecked field and url field added and I added the lastchecked field in the group of jabref. I am not sure what I am missing. Does anybody have an idea? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. -Mirko
Re: APA Style and more than one author as reference.... ?
Hi Roberto, I think my problem lies in the apacite package, which is not up to date or I am missing something in my preamble. Would you mind sending me your preamble so I can check if my preamble looks the same? I have only this in my preamble: \usepackage{url} Thanks. Re: Reference list appears in middle of text
Graham, I do this to accomplish having the reference list at the end: 1. remove references and list 2. go to the very end of the lyx document 3. if you want the references appear on a separate page - instert -> Formatting -> Page Break 4. Below the Page Break: insert -> List/TOC -> Bibtext/Bibliography 5. Add you reference(s) in your text again. I hope that helps, Mirko On Fri, 09 Nov 2007 21:24:09 + Graham Smith <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > I am using the article (paper) Class with several figures and 22 pages > long, all was fine until I added a BibTex reference list (with only one > reference) > > Now the final paragraph and a half of text appears "after" the reference > list. > > Is there something obvious I am doing wrong > > WINXPPro Lyx 1.5.2 > > many thanks, > > Graham
Re: APA Style and more than one author as reference.... ?
Hi Roberto, thank you for your answer. I somehow do not get it to work. I am using a different software for editing .bib files. Could you have a look at the entry that is displayed correctly with the "lastchecked" field and copy and send it to me? That would be great since I am not so sure how to apply in my .bib file what you told me with "the General Group now reads General:crossref;keywords;file;doi;url;lastchecked;citeseerurl;comment;owner;timestamp". That would be great. Thank you. Hi Roberto, thank you very much for your response. That worked well. I however recognized that the \bibnodot{.} command as described in apacite.pdf page 21 did not work with lyx. Does it work in your case? The author of apacite.pdf also describes that the same thing can be accomplished with the url and the lastchecked field but I don't understand how. Do you know how? Re: APA Style and more than one author as reference.... ?
Thanks for your reply, I figured it out. My problem was that I did not know which format the authors had to be in. More than one author has to be in this format: Firstname Lastname and Firstname Lastname and Firstname Lastname. Do you know how I can site References that were retrieved from a website with the url field and the lastchecked field in the .bib file. This means I would like to have something like this in my References: "Retrieved November 03, 2007 from http:\\website.edu." APA Style and more than one author as reference.... ?
Hi, I am trying to get apa style with lyx running and it looks very promising. I however could not get more than one author displayed correctly in the Reference section. Is there any documentation regarding how to display a citation in the reference section correctly? If not, can anybody help me out on what I have to do in order to get it displayed correctly? Whenever there is more than one author, only the first author is displayed correctly and the other authors are abbreviated to their initials. Bibliography is set to natbib style. Is this correct? Any help is appreciated. Thank you. -Mirko

Does the biblatex support already work? If so, how can I integrate the package into lyx? -Mirko
Re: lyx-1.5.1 apa style question
So, I figured it out. In case anybody else is interested. This is the solution: Document -> Settings -> Document Class: article (APA), Options: jou (for Journal, "man" for manuscript, "doc" for document.) I hope some else found this helpful. -Mirko On Sat, 13 Oct 2007 12:59:43 -0400 Mirko Briemle <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > Thanks for all the help. I managed to get apa style integrated. So I found this: It should be possible to switch from one mode to another one with these options: \documentclass[jou]{apa} for the two-column output (txfonts default) \documentclass[man}{apa} for the manuscript (double-spaced) output \documentclass[doc]{apa} for regular document (in computer modern) Where do I implement this in order to switch from journal from manuscript mode for example? Thanks for all the help. I managed to get apa style integrated. It formats everything well into jounral format. The apa package says that there is also a manuscript format included. Is this true?
