 Does anybody know, which code I have to enter in references in Bibdesk for

 codes?

if you are not stuck to Bibdesk, you might want to take JabRef into
consideration, which makes those things fairly easy.
http://jabref.sourceforge.net/

 I would also like to replace the english terms (like volume, chapter,
 etc.) with the appropriate german terms. Daniel suggested to choose a German
 BibTeX style, but I can´t figure out, how to do that.

If your document language is german, it should be in german automatically.
I would recommand using Jurabib, but thats probably depending on our subject and
what your bibliography has to look like.

For Jurabib with Lyx have a look here:
http://wiki.lyx.org/LyX/HumanitiesLyX#toc11

 Where could I find
 that dialogue for the BibTex generated Bibliography?

have a look into the manual, section 6.5 should explain it for you.

The new features are a great improvement and make my everyday life certainly
easier, so I definetly like that and would like to thank you for it. I also
appreciate the way issues raised by users are handled, which James has pointed
out already.

As I am not part of the development it seems to be somewhat difficult to
evaluate what could be improved. Well its just impression I got, which might be
due to the distance wrong: The first Release Candidate appeared to be somewhat
rushed, and plattform specific bugs seem to get different attention, which is
understandable.

re: Change names of TOC? Bibliography?

2008-11-17 Thread PeerLynt
Does anyone know how to change the name of this section? In Lyx
report(koma-script) it prints out by default as Contents. Can I make it
read Table of Contents ?

yes

Also, to change the default name of the Bibliography I tried adding the
following to the preamble, but it doesn't seem to have an effect:
\renewcommand{\bibname}{List of References}
If I add this as ERT code right before the Bibliography in my LyX document,
 the name is now changed in the PDF output. How come?

use this \renewcommand*{\bibname}{List of References}

I am using the 'bibtotoc' option in the arguments to the document class.
(The bibliography appears in the Contents, even when the nomenclature doesn't!)
What's the difference between this and using the following ERT TEX code?
\addcontentsline{toc}{chapter}{\bibname}

if you just care for the bib to show up in the TOC, its the same; if you are
depending on other things like hyperref it will lead to different outcomes

With the hyperref package, the bibliography is hyperlinked to the TOC entry,
but if I use the bookmarks menu on the left in Acrobat, clicking on
Bibliography takes me to the title page of my document instead!

it should work, either you check your preferences or you could workaround with
setting up a hypertarget around your bibliography like this:

\hypertarget{YOURLABELNAME}{}
\pdfbookmark[0]{Bookmarkname}{YOURLABELNAME}

but then you will probably have to replace your bibtotoc option with KOMA by
the addcontentsline command
