placing the [input: graph.tex] inside a figure float should work (but i'm not sure)

a way to include the file 'graph.tex' directly into a lyx document. if i

avoid pagebreak between normal text and list
hi short expample: - 1.2 section heading paragraph spawning several lines single line paragraph describing the list * item * item * item - now it happens that latex puts a pagebreak between the text line and the list, how can i avoid this? i think the paragraph should be treated as a section heading but without special formatting, but i dont if this right and how to do it :( -- thanks ronny

is there a way to change to indention in enumerate environments?
if i redefine the labels with \renewcommand\labelenumi{\arabic{enumi}. Tag} they are
way outside the left margin
i know there are solutions not using lyx (or latex standard) enumerate (e.g.
Eenumerate), but it is it possible with lyx' enumerate?

RH dropped LyX from powertools after they made a complete FU of powertools 5 when they included LyX linked against 0.86 and shipped 0.81 on the cd. At the time we had also dropped support for 0.81 so even if you tried rebuilding from srpms you still couldn't get it working. Perhaps they didn't like our GUII idea or the KLyX port which was being rumoured (since everyone had said gtk wouldn't win outright). This smells like some political decision... redhat takes sometimes strange political decisions, sometimes license related, sometimes even stranger netscape is still included (and completely non-free), but lyx/xforms is not (which is imho more free) pine is still included (also non-free) there are several alternatives to netscape, but none to lyx there are hundreds of alternatives to pine, but none to lyx i'd accept their decision to include only free software, if they were consequent i will talk to a redhat guy at the evening, maybe me gets heard ;) Andre' -- ronny

I downloaded and compiled and installed icewm from source inside CygWin, and since it seems to be working quite fine I think the install is ok. Then I installed the LyX .zip package given somewhere on the LyX web site. I extracted the .zip (using CygWin's tools, there didn't seem to be unzip on Windows) and installed it. Everything seems to be ok so far. Now, when I start first X server and then try to start LyX, XFree crashes immediately (ie. the X window disappears). I tried running LyX remotely from my Linux box, and it worked fine. did you a try an x-server from the test series? maybe a strace of the x-server could help the cygwin developers if it's not working use starnet's xwin32 It is a Windows NT box. -- ronny
