I'm wondering how to have figures without comments or figure number attached to them. I need to have no labeling for several figures in my thesis. I am working on my thesis at the moment using report class. My question is what do I need to do to modify the title page? There is a set format That I have to follow which is: TITLE A thesis submitted in partical fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Bachelor of Science (Honours) by Me School of Chemistry University of Sydney Uni_logo picture date How would I go about doing it? Its not vital I guess, I can just print a title page somewhere else but it would be nice to do it witht he rest of the document. Also, I'm not sure how to go about modifying the .bst file's so that I can use unsrt.bst but not have titles of paper's displayed (seems silly to me but hey I've got to follow there formatting). This is what I have tried to do I spent an hour or so fiddling with it the other day. Exact same dimensions etc and it didnt work. Maybe it just didnt like m e that day or something I will try again, I guess. When cutting and pasting from gnumeric, I would create a table in LyX that was the exact dimensions (i.e. same number of rows and columns) of what I was trying to paste and didn't seem to have any troubles. I do remember that it took some patience to get a feel for how to do this, but I think it only took a couple of iterations. Im finding the Lyx tables to be extreamely annoying, I cant get them to do what I want to do and it keeps inserting weird formatting etc. I tried to use gnumeric and cut and paste, but that didnt work properly, most oftern only one line of cells would be filled. Also tried xl2latex but the version I can find proudly proclaims that it now works with excel 97 so a newer version is preferable. Do people have other suggestions? Hi all, I am currently working my arse off trying to get my Chemistry honours thesis written and I am wondering what the best way is to get tabulated data from excel into my Lyx Document. In the install directions it jsut says to run it through latex and then copy the files into places seen by Lyx and bibTex. I copied them over to the Lyx directory in to the bibtex folder and the tex directory. The files then turned up in lyx but when I tried to use them it said it couldnt find the .sty file. All i would like to know is where the files are supposed to go. As I cant seem to make sense of it.
