Re: Lyx2.0.2 for windows cannot display \leq

There should be ten TrueType font files (.ttf), along with a couple of text files. Those fonts are used by LyX to display math on the screen, so it is possible that one of them is not properly installed or is broken. (Broken seems unlikely if reverting to an earlier version of LyX did not cure the problem.) I don't have a Win 7 machine handy at the moment, but there should be a font applet in the control panel. Try reinstalling the ten font files and see if that cures the problem. You probably don't need to reinstall all of them, but offhand I don't know which one would be responsible for \leq. Paul Hello, the problem with incorrect display of the \leq symbol in Lyx, but with correct compiling of \leq in the PDF output, appeared in Lyx 2.1.3 installed on Win8, so the problem is NOT with the Lyx version at all as suggested in posts above, namely installing a newer version does not solve the problem. So, I suspected that the problem is related with the Win OS configuration. What I did is go to C:\Program Files (x86)\LyX20\Resources\fonts and started to right click on each .ttf and then Install it. For some of the fonts, I got the message the font is already installed do you want to replace it?, I gave yes for re-writing the installed fonts. After restarting the Lyx 2.1.3 I got nice \leq symbol displayed that compiles correctly as well. In summary, the problem of \leq display in Lyx seems to be due to problem in installed Win OS fonts. Because some of the .ttf fonts were over-written during the installation process and some not, I am not able to say whether the problem was missing font in Win or due to previously installed incomplete version of the font, that got re-written with complete font. I have noticed, that some .ttf fonts circulating in internet are not complete and have missing symbols that get replaced with empty square.
