Printing problems.........
It doesn't rain but it pours. My HP Deskjet F2280 all in one printer won't print landscape in anything created by LyX either directly from LyX or from a .pdf file that LyX created. I see on the Hewlett Packard webspace that another person is having problems with the same printer when trying to print landscape documents created by LaTeX, on an Ubuntu system. He said that an OpenOffice landscape document will print. I haven't tried it yet. But no solution was found. So who's problem? LyX or HP and making it mine? I would guess that you would have the same problem when exporting to LaTeX and compiling the document manually, but it is worth checking. If so, then the problem is not with LyX but either with pdflatex or with HP or with some combination thereof, or perhaps with whatever is converting the PDF to a format the DeskJet will recognize. rh

Printing from all other apps is ok - so I guess it's a problem with ghostscript. Does anyone have the same problem and can help me? Thank you Thorsten It is probably not the fault of lyx. There are many places in between cups, the filters and ghostscript where the problem can occur. If you use SuSE I can give you a reference to an article in their support database. lyx printing problems
Hi. I have been trying to printout a document in progress, which normally printed fine, and instead of black characters, i get black blocks with white characters inside them... why is this happening and how can i fix it? -my printer does test pages fine, so im guessing this is something weird with the postscript print? Alex
