But that may be some quirk of my installation. We just got this sorted out. The files in step 1 were designed to work with LyX 1.4.1, not with 1.4.3. The 1.4.3 installer is supposed to take care of installing Aspell files. However, if it did not, you should be able to use what I wrote above to get going. The trick is to copy any files that end up in C:\Aspell\lib\aspell-0.60 to C:\Aspell\Dictionaries. /Paul

I am trying to install the latest version lyx-143-4 and failed to download spellchecker. The message during the installation says 'failed to download English spell checker- would you like to try again'. Clearly problems accessing the host from the web. How do I install spellchecker separately once lyx has been set up? What is the procedure? Any suggestions as to what to do?
