The following way works here. [It's taken from the LaTeX preamble used in

In the LateX preamble add the lines:

\let\myTOC\tableofcontents

Note: If the document language is Spanish, roman (i, ii, ...) is
changed automatically by Small Caps (I, II ...) as it's the standard.

I don't remember what you call it, but LyX has buttons to nest paragraphs.
Nest the descriptive paragraph inside sentence #4, and I believe it should do
exactly what you want. Not only that, it's very representative of what you're
doing, because the descriptive paragraph is ABOUT sentence 4. Styles based

This particular request -- to have an enumeration resume after an
interruption, and often an interruption at the top-level -- appears
on the list quite frequently. Among the developers, has any thought
been given to making this a menu option (called Resume Enumeration,
say) in a future version of LyX?

Yes, I implemented that once, and then someone (guess who ;-)) came up
with a module that could do it. However, both solutions have their yet
unsolved problems, so until now, neither of the two has made it in.

Maybe, Gunter and I should have another chat about this.

I don't remember what you call it, but LyX has buttons to nest
paragraphs. Nest the descriptive paragraph inside sentence #4, and I
believe it should do exactly what you want. Not only that, it's very
representative of what you're doing, because the descriptive
paragraph

is ABOUT sentence 4. Styles based authoring at its best.

For the record: if you really want to continue an enumeration after a
top-level interuption, you can use the enumitem module. (Search

But the problem is, that when I choose numeration in the menu, the

You can download the lyx module enumitem.module from

you can simply choose a style Enumerate-Resume from the dropdown-list

  Lyx even does not start the caption with: Abbidung

 This is because you need to select the 'Caption' layout from the
 layouts list in the toolbar.

This fixed the numeration when it is refered to the picture in the
text. But the picture still doesn't show up in the Index of
pictures and the caption doesn't start with Abblidung xx.xx:...

figure numeration

2002-08-15 Thread Axel Heinrici

Hi

I have a problem with the numeration of figures. I use lyx 1.2 and
document layout is report.
I used some tex commands to put in some pictures in my document.
This was just because I wantet to label things inside the picture.
I used something like this:

\begin{figure}[h]
\unitlength1cm \begin{picture}(11,10)
\put(0,0){\includegraphics[width=6cm,height=10cm]{Bilder/Doppeldiode}}
\put(7,9){Paralleler Strahl: Beide Hälften}
\put(7,1.8){...

\end{picture} \caption[Funktion der
Autofokusregelung.]{Funktion } \
\label{Doppeldiode}
\end{figure}

Everyting works fine with this.
The caption starts with: Abbildung 4.2: Funktion...
This is used in Subsection 4.1.5 but the number of the picture is
4.2. Also every reference is done as 4.2
When I use a float with lyx the picture is referred to picture
4.1.5. I prefer refering to it as 4.2, but anyway it should always
be done in the same way.
At the end of my document I placed a list of pictures with lyx
(Einfügen - Listen Inhalt - Liste der Abbildungen). The picture
4.1.5 is missing there completely. Only the pictures inserted with
tex commands are listed.
What is wrong here?
Or is lyx not working together with the tex commands I used. I
cannot abandon the tex parts because of the labeling. So, do I have
to use the tex way during the complete document?

greetings
Axel
