Re: [M100] file transfer
Where are you seeing a page on Bitchin100 about Mcomm, and where are you finding an iOS version? I can find neither, either through the Wiki search on Bitchin100 or through Google. —mark > Bitchin 100 says that there is a Windows version of Mcomm, but it just > connects to Kurt's member page which only has versions for the Android and > iPhone.
[M100] Convert integer to string WITHOUT leading space?
How do I do this? STR$(A%) returns the value of A% with a leading space. This is not how the M100 manual indicates STR$() works, and I can’t believe there’s no way to get a numerical variable as a string that’s just the number?
Re: [M100] Modifying TELCOM
There’s a disassembly of the entire Model 100 ROM that I want to say I found on Club100, but I couldn’t swear to it. I just pulled out the parts from the TELCOM entry point to the next entry point. I’ve been going through it and replacing addresses with labels, such that it can be compiled run in high memory. I haven’t spent much time with it lately, got hooked on the Psion Organiser and that’s been eating all my hobby time. Neat little machine, kind of the Model T of handheld computers. —mark
Re: [M100] Any further info on TDock?
> > What do you want it to do? MVT100 exists. https://bitchin100.com/wiki/index.php?title=VT100 I'm aware of MVT, neat little project, but not really what I'm looking for. I am mainly interested in non-volatile storage and network connectivity, whether that's the host machine backing up the M100's files or the M100 being presented with a modem emulator. TRS-Box type functionality would be ideal. A bigger display would be nice, but is somewhat secondary for me. I don't see a reason to mess with the cassette port, BCR port, or serial port when the computer has the system bus exposed...and for exactly this purpose. In fact, I'm a little surprised that nobody has built any projects (that I'm aware of) that use the system bus. Seems ripe for experimentation, since it gives direct access to the CPU.z Side question: what kind of bandwidth is the system bus capable of? I can't find any information on that specifically. *mark audacity rombergmark.romb...@gmail.com *
Re: [M100] Any further info on TDock?
Ken, Thanks for the quick response! I seem to have misunderstood the design intent of TDock, my apologies. Certainly sounds like you have your hands full. One of my best friends has an autistic sister that she helps care for, so I appreciate how much effort that can be. Best, mark *mark audacity rombergmark.romb...@gmail.com *
[M100] Any further info on TDock?
Guess I'll just ask this every couple years, because I think it would be rad as hell to have a modern dock for the M100. It sounded like Ken had a working prototype a couple years ago, but haven't heard anything since. *mark audacity romberg817.368.9314mark.romb...@gmail.com *
[M100] Modifying TELCOM
I was looking at the disasssembled TELCOM source today, and it seems there’s almost a kilobyte devoted to looking up and dialing phone numbers that could be ditched, which has me thinking that it shouldn’t be too cramped to add hardware handshaking and maybe even XMODEM once that (and ADDRSS and SCHEDL, another 333 bytes of dead weight) are ripped out of the ROM. Has anyone tried anything like this? I know about HTERM, but I want to maintain modem functionality and I don’t care that much about VT emulation. —m.a
[M100] Looking for an M100 battery door
My journalist-surplus Model 100 has never had a battery door since new, and I’d like to hunt one down. If anyone has one they’d be willing to sell, please contact me off-list. Thanks! —m.a
[M100] Lack of info on DIY RAM upgrades
Say y’all, I don’t have a login on the Bitchin 100 Wiki to comment there, but both the 8k and 24k DIY RAM board articles have no actual actionable information—no schematics, no links, no PCB art, nothing but a photo of the 8k, and a photo of the prototype installed for the 24k. Needless to say…these are not useful. Could we either get the folks who created those projects to post the rest of the information/files, or remove the articles, since they essentially are stories, not projects? —m.a
[M100] NEC PC8201a for sale (not mine)

[M100] Tandy 600 on eBay right now
Not mine, just giving folks a heads-up since they’re a bit rare.
[M100] Sardine dictionary files?
How do I get my hands on these? I’ve been Googling for a minute with no luck. —m.a
Re: [M100] Customizing main menu?
Thanks for all the responses, y’all! LibROM sounds like just the ticket, and having the code published is icing on the cake. Thanks much! —m
[M100] Customizing main menu?
Has anyone played with modifying the system ROM to remove/change menu entries or add other programs? ADDRSS and SCHEDL are totally useless to me, and I’d rather have HTERM than TELCOM since I’m never going to even see a functional RJ-11 jack again. Might be nice to have the launchers for TS-DOS/Ultimate ROM/whatever other Option ROMs ‘burned in’ to the default menu so they stay resident on a cold boot. —mark
[M100] TDock status?
I haven’t seen anything about Ken Pettit’s TDock recently. Does anyone know the status of that project? —mark, KF5YDR
[M100] Hacking the expansion bus?
With as many upgrades and hacks (NADSbox, REX, VT100) as we have for the M100, I’m really surprised not to have seen anything done with the expansion bus connector. Seems like a DVI clone would be achievable, or internal removable storage or a VGA interface, or or or. I would love to be able to have a modem and a mass-storage device connected at the same time, for example. Is this something folks have been working on and I’ve just missed it? The desktop Tandy guys have got Dropbox clients and flash disks and all kinds of whiz-bang stuff for their machines! —mark, KF5YDR
[M100] Flickering LCD?
My M100’s display is flickering, sometimes cutting out completely. Fiddling with the contrast knob or giving it a thump seems to fix it sometimes, but not always. Any idea what causes this, or how to fix it? —mark, KF5YDR
