Reminders App podcast and tutorial
Hello fellow listers, Recently I decided I wanted to use the Reminders Application and decided to learn how to use it. I've created a podcast that shares what I've learned about the Reminders App, and how to use it with Voice Over. I don't know where to post this podcast so for now it is in my dropbox and the link is below. I tried very hard to make this a enjoyable but useful podcast. Hopefully it is helpful and has very little chatter. I tested this link and it worked for me. If anyone has additional tips on using the app please share them as I did not cover some of the advanced features such as searching and using the dates area. Also, for me this link starts playing and I'm not sure how to advise people if they just want to down load it for future use. If someone knows how to do that please let us know. Re: List Recorder suggestions welcome
Hi Daniela, What a nice thought and suggestion. You are absolutely correct. My thought is though that because the tilt gestures are unfamiliar to most new users it is probably better to not have them on as the default but rather turned on in settings. Some people have told me they gave up on the App because they could not figure out why the app kept backing up and going to the edit area, in what they thought was a random way. You are correct that this functionality could be helpful to some users. I wish I had thought of that! Eric Caron On Feb 2, 2012, at 4:27 AM, Daniela Rubio wrote: Hi! I did the podcast to try to help fairly new blind users of Amadeus Pro. You can find the podcast at blindcooltec.com. search for Amadeus Pro Vinyl to CD. Hope this helps. eric Caron On Feb 11, 2012, at 3:24 PM, Paul Hopewell wrote: Hello Amadeus Pro Users, I would appreciate a few tips on using Amadeus Pro with VoiceOver. I can replay the music I have recorded and can position named markers at desirable points. I have discovered the markers and selection windows but cannot fathom out how to effectively use these. If I look at the markers window I can see the named markers I have added along with quite a few other markers which are mistakes and which I would like to remove. How does one remove a named marker? Having got rid of the rubbish markers I would like to delete the music between a couple of my named markers. I can do that with some difficulty by noting the time position of the markers of interest from the markers window and then using that to edit the start and end times of the selection in the selection window. However that is tedious and error prone. I hope there is an easier way. Then I would like to start playing the music from one of my named markers first to check that the marker is in the correct place and then to continue playing and editing the music starting at the marker of interest rather than starting at the beginning of the music. I would much appreciate any tips. Many thanks. question about adding recipients in messages
In Apple Mail (on a MacBook) how do you add recipients (more than one) in the to or cc field? When I try to do this, the first address autofills correctly, but when I try to add additional addresses this deletes what was entered already. I have tried using a semicolon or a comma to separate addresses as I would in a Windows-based program, but this did not work for me in Apple Mail. I ended up typing each address out including greater than and less than signs to offset them and separating them with semicolons. This is obviously not a desirable method. :-) I want to be able to take advantage of autofill from my contacts. Re: question about adding recipients in messages
Did you end the first one with a comma? WHile it talks in the auto fill, just type comma and then start typing the next. If that doesn't work then you have to find the last letter of the filled address, highlight it and then re type it and comma, but typing the comma itself should do it. Hi Dane, I recently posted a podcast that covered this and the other aspects of the Reminders. app. Below is my post and the link to the podcast. The short answer is listen to the reminder you have created. It is listed twice. one of them will say unchecked double tap to check it and it is marked as complete. this causes other actions as well but that is in the podcast. Soon after that I noticed some messages from listers with questions about the App. Re: Changing my password on IPhone
Hi Catherine, Esther and others. Though it can be messy, some times it works out better in the long run. It was out of mom's control last Summer, when her ISP literally went away over night. She ordered her 4S by phone, and the sales rep created a new Apple ID because eMail communication was the only way that she could agree to the carrier's contract terms. So I was tasked with merging the two ids while retaining access to the apps purchased under the old ID. What I learned is that Sarah's suggestion should (but does not always) work. If the change can not be completed via signing out/in under the Store menu in iTunes, it may be necessary to deactivate the old id at the itunes site. If you have Apple care, they can talk you through it over the phone; I don't recall the exact procedure, and I suspect that Apple is making this info difficult to find in Google. What I recall was signing in with mom's old Apple ID and then appending text such as a period (.) and a word such as delete, disable, or remove. So the prompt would be something like m...@myisp.com.delete and after entering the password and confirming, its gone. The whole process does not take much time and will retain your DRM info from the old ID, but Iit may be best to call Apple and make sure you do it right. The other nice thing is that you'll once again get receipts when making purchases, and receive confirmation of genius bar appointments, etc. Best regards.
