Hello, Surely you can move them yourself into the order you require? From memory it is option + left or right arrow. You are limited in moving the folder section but the app icons can be reordered. Lol. Not with 30 or so icons on the doc and for me vo seems to lag a lot when I do this. and yes you can alphabetize the stuff to the right of the separator. I've done that already. You can close the lid, or hit cmd option eject to put it to sleep/stand by. Either one will work just fine. As for alerts i have them sent to my phone via icloud so generally those work across ios devices anyways. Tc. I've just rearranged my Dock with cmd option left/right arrow, and it took no time, and this is with quite a few items in there. It wouldn't let me move the finder or trash folder though - Andy. Creating a group in Contacts.
Hi all - I have a group of people I email regularly, using the bcc address field. Rather than putting all their addresses in manually, I'd like to create a group for them all, that I could just call up from my Contacts, that would put them all in the bcc address field. I can't seem to find an option for this. Anybody say how/if it can be done? Re: Creating a group in Contacts.
Hello Andy, In Contacts, you can create a new group then copy the appropriate cards to that group, or you can create a new group from the cards you've already selected. These options are in the File menu. To e-mail a group, interact with the Groups table, navigate to the appropriate group, then get a contextual menu and select Send Email to (name of group). This will open a new message in Mail. This will automatically put the group in the To field, but you can do Cmd-c and paste the group into the BCC field then just delete them from the To field. Thanks Anne - I've now got a group as I wanted it. I have discovered that to send an email to the group, all I need to do is use cmd N for new message, tab to the BCC field, and type in the group name, and all the contacts get added. There's a nice little app called serial mail that will do what you want as well, except it wil lsend out seprate messages from the group. I've been using it for about 2 years now and love it. I have several groups I email and it makes it very quick and i can if I want to personalise some of the messages or not. It's easy to use and i can do a podcast on it the next timeI send out a msg. Yeah liek I said I have over 40 items in the doc that I use and on my 3 year old system vo and the whole thign just lags and reads the wrong icons and stuff when I sometimes move stuff hence the solution for automitically doing this.
