Update on refund

2013-11-12 Thread Chris H

Hello everyone, this is Chris here.
Just a quick update to say I got my refund for sure.
I was curious actually, as my balance hasn't changed since I got
confirmation of the refund, which was three days ago. Somebody on
another list suggested I sign out and back in on both pc and iPhone in
my case. Both are now showing the refunded balance, £10.39 in my case.
Thank you for all your help over on the other list. I'll try not to be
as stupid as I was again grin. How it was I meant to preview an album
and instead clicked the price button, and on the PC end I told it not to
confirm it with me first. So of course it just purchased it for me. I
did manage to stop the download though by closing iTunes and clicking
the quit button.

Thank you once again.
Kind regards
Chris.

VLC Back In The IOS App Store

2013-11-12 Thread Dane Trethowan
Hi!

For a while VLC disappeared from the Apple App Store for IOS devices, its been
back for a while so decided to give it a try, after all! the App is fee and I
very much like VLC for Mac and for Windows.

I wasn't disappointed, everything is as I expected it to be when I opened the
VLC Player App - if you've used VLC for Mac or for Windows before then the
screens will look very familiar in the IOS App -.

I like the addition of the Dropbox feature, play files directly from your
Dropbox which is convenient, means you can set everything up for your Jukebox
from a remote location if necessary.

Like VLC for Mac and Windows, the IOS App handles integration with a UPNP Media
Server without problems so play anything from your network without the need for
any complicated setup procedures, VLC will find your media server and its then
just a case of the user selecting what is to be played whether that be audio,
video, photo streaming etc.

Still more to play with and loads more to discover, not sure if this App is
available under Android yet but I'd be very surprised if it wasn't so I'm going
to look on Google Place when I get a minute and have Samsung Galaxy s4 ready.

RE: Where To? iOS app on sale today for $0.99

2013-11-12 Thread Christopher-Mark Gilland
This looks somewhat usable, but when I go to the category tab, which is
where I landed the first time I ever openned the app, I double tapped on
shopping. I then double tapped on electronics. Up to this point, so far so
good. Then however, I went to where it said Best Buy and gave the address
of my nearest location. It said shows more info. I thus double tapped to
see if I could get more info as it suggested. No matter what, try as I may,
nothing at all really seemed to happen. It looked like it took me over into
the native maps app which totally stinks, seeing that the voice guidance for
the app seems to be broken. At least on my end, and about 3 other people
I've had try it, tell me it's broken. Yes, I know about going into settings
and making sure the voice is said to normal or loud, etc. I'm perfectly
aware of that. I've already checked it, and it's on loud. Anyway, the app
switcher didn't show Maps as running though, so I'm not really sure. After
double tapping on that Best Buy store location, it doesn't really appear
that the screen really refreshed and updated to quote: show more info. When
I 3 finger flicked down to scroll the screen up toward the top of the page,
it appeared that it was actually scrolling me between different cities and
the more I 3 finger flicked up or down, didn't matter, it geographically was
moving me further and further away from my current location. Scrolling the
other way made no difference. It insisted on moving me further out rather
than scrolling the screen. I confess, I've not looked at the search nor
favorites options within the app, nor yet have I looked at the settings, but
upon first glance so far, it looks to not be the most usable over here. If
I flick around, I sometimes even hear it say use the rotor to access points
of interest. Well, at that point, I can get the rotor set to points of
interest, but then if I 1 finger flick up or down, it just dwonks at me, and
nothing happens. I dono if that's because maybe that would eventually be a
way to get at your favorites? If so, then call it that, for god sake! Not!
points of interest. OK, they may technically be that, but that's really! a
very poor way of wording it, if so. So, guys, what am I missing here if
anything?

Chris.

Re: Deleting a Skype account

2013-11-12 Thread Zachary Kline
Andy,
Things like this are handled through the Skype web site. You want to log on to
www.skype.com, and you’ll find options to edit all sorts of things. Certainly
the Skype name will probably be one.
Hope this helps,
Zack.

Hi Zack -

I already looked at the website, and as you say, there are options for adding
extra info, and changing pass wortds, as well as your full name, but not the
Skype name, and nowhere does there appear to be an option for actually deleting
the account. Hope somebody has some more on this one -

Re: Deleting a Skype account

2013-11-12 Thread Lewis Crack
Hi Andy,

I suggest that's the best option. I know it's annoying, but hey, we
can't have everything in life, sadly.
It only takes a couple of minutes to set up a new account anyway,
although it would have been nice if the old one could be deleted.
I had a similar experience with a Skype Account.
Regards.
Lewis.

I had for my account but every time I click the sign in link to get to the sign

Re: Deleting a Skype account

2013-11-12 Thread Andy Collins
Hi Lewis - seems such poor practice to make it so difficult to remove an
account. I've gone deeper in to it, and you have to actually contact their
customer service to do this. I tried following the steps for this, but could
only get so far with their contact screens, but not far enough to complete my
request for account deletion.

They also said somewhere that you could edit the account, just blocking out
profile details with junk characters. This would still leave the Skype name
active, but there would be no profile details visible other than the junk
characters in the edit fields. They said to insert junk characters because it
wasn't possible to save changes if the fields were blank. I had a go at this
too, but when I went back in to my account, the changes hadn't been saved. So,
think I'll give up on trying any further, and just create yet another account -

Re: 0 messages 14 unread means

2013-11-12 Thread Sarah k Alawami
What’s happening is your messages are downloading in to the table. Give it a
few minutes, or seconds and try again. if that does not work, hit cmd option w,
and then cmd option n to show that view again and wait. I find this works find
and dandy when this happens, which is often.

Take care.

I actually tried deleting my test account and they flat out told me you are
unable to remove an account, just remove the profile info and it will just
eventually disappear but not be gone if that makes sense. I have the direct

Take care.
