OK, how're you spelling it?

It's all one word I M, plus sign. not p l u s. It's one word, and the
literal plus sign.

If you can't find it, send me your e-mail address, and I'll e-mail you a
share link.

Hi,
I have a MS Messenger account that I have had for a long time, and I
thought

Does anyone know of an accessible one for IOS?
Thanks.

Interesting, I was told to tap the connect to Facebook button and 2 things
happened, the App Store opened at the Facebook App page along with Safari
and the Facebook App itself, I couldn't get any further than that -
meaning that I couldn't get IM+ Pro to add an account so I'm obviously
missing something or doing something wrong.

Re: Microsoft Messenger type app for IOS

2014-03-15 Thread Christopher gilland
I'm thinking they probably broke the FB protocol API again. Face it. FB
changes things more often than a baby craps its... well, you get the
point... LOL!

For example, I know in Adium on my mac, I've not been able to get the best
results with FB for a while now. It connects just fine, but I always get
this weird error message about not being able to add an FB contact, as if I
even tried doing so in the first place.

So, yeah, it's probably an API breakage, if I had to guess.

Chris.

Hey there Sarah.

You got IMPlus to work with Skype? OK, is that only text chatting though,
or can you make it also do voice. I know just use the native Skype app for
voice/video, but, I was just curious to what extent Skype integration was in
IMPlus.

Keep in mind, if you use Skype on your I O S device, you can sign in with a
microsoft passport account, giving you access to text chat msn messenger.
The integration actually works quite impressively.

Hi,
I have a MS Messenger account that I have had for a long time, and I
thought

I'd look for its app in the app store, but could not find one specifically
for MS Messenger.
Does anyone know of an accessible one for IOS?
Thanks.
Glenn

Re: Microsoft Messenger type app for IOS

2014-03-15 Thread Sarah k Alawami
yeah it's a lot easier then it used to be. I remember I think about 3 or so
years ago when it was a bit clunky at best hence why I did not do a podcast on
it. It's a lot better now then it was then, trust me and anyone else who ias
used it on that.

Take care to all.

Brenda it's inside the oval shaped recess above the volume controls. You
have to use your fingernail to flick it up or down.

Hi, your best bet for get a transfer of that kind is to use iCloud
 instead
of using iTunes use iCloud and restore your iPad from an iPhone back up
 or
in this case set up the iPad from one of your iPhones back ups.

Re: Microsoft Messenger type app for IOS

2014-03-15 Thread Dane Trethowan
Hi!

You use IM+ too? Can you have a look at the Facebook account settings, I'm
curious to see what I'm missing when it comes to adding a Facebook account
although perhaps there's something there that isn't accessible.

Yeah I would forget about microsoft messenger as it's now dead. I also use
implus as well, it works very well and even integrates well with skype which
you can use your passport account to sing in at.

You probably won't find one given that MSN Messenger - as its termed - is no
longer active.

I have an App called IM+ Pro here which is very accessible, it supports
multiple types of accounts including MSN/Skype though lately I've not been able
to add my Facebook account for some reason.

Does anyone know of an accessible one for IOS?

Taking pictures with IPhone 5s for recognizing with finereader on the mac.

2014-03-15 Thread Annie Skov Nielsen
Hi.

I have been experimenting a lot with my iPhone 5s and taking pictures for
recognizing with finereader pro on the mac. I have a couple of questions, that
I hope you knows something about.

Once I bought the clear camera app from occipital, but it has not been updated
since last april, so I guess the built in app will do better? Is there an
alternative to the built-in camera app, I could try which would be a better
choice. It would be nice if I could create an album or a folder for the results
for e.g. a book. I need as good scannings/pictures as I can get, so any advice
will be greatly appreciated.
Normally I am using standscan with my iPhone 5s and I am running IOS 7.1.

Best regards Annie.

Hi, your best bet for get a transfer of that kind is to use iCloud
 instead
of using iTunes use iCloud and restore your iPad from an iPhone back up
 or
in this case set up the iPad from one of your iPhones back ups.

I don't think iDevices synch with each other, at least I have never
 heard
 of
this. They synch with iTunes. You have to normally set up synch
 preferences
 for each device under iTunes.

You can of course make the preferences identical.

You will need to restore it using iTunes, or from settings, general,
reset,
erase and reset, and when that is done and you are setting up the iPad
by
hand choose ro restore from an iCloud back up on the iPad itself do not

iTunes.
Oh and make sure all iCloud settings you want enabled on the iPhone are

You can do this by going to settings, and iCloud.

You will need to restore it using iTunes, or from settings, general,
reset,

erase and reset, and when that is done and you are setting up the iPad by
hand choose ro restore from an iCloud back up on the iPad itself do not
use

iTunes.
Oh and make sure all iCloud settings you want enabled on the iPhone are
actually enabled and that iCloud is actually turned on on your iPhone
too.

You can do this by going to settings, and iCloud.

tri-tone sound, nor do I get any other sound at all. Come to think of it,
I don't even get any vibration alerts either from Facebook. This is
 driving me absolutely crazy! I'm a very! advanced I O S user, and you'd
think that there wouldn't be anything I've missed. Pretty much, the only
thing I've not done is to uninstall, and reinstall the app. That's
probably gonna be the next thing on my checklist to try, unless you guys

Anyhow, here's what I've so far done to trouble shoot this.

 1. Make absolutely sure I'm not on silent/vibrate mode, and I'm not.

 2. reboot the device.

 3. Press home and sleep for several seconds and let the phone hard reset.

 4. Close the app from the app switcher, and relaunch it. No good.

 5. Clear all FB notifications from Notification center just in case
 something's hung up. NO good.

 6. Made sure sounds were enabled for FB alerts, and they are.

 7. Make sure vibrate alerts are enabled for FB, and they are.

 8. Make sure push notifications for comments are enabled. They
 definitely are.

 9. Make sure Facebook is set to sounds on, and it is.

 10. toggle the sound settings off then back on to refresh things.

 11. Plug in headphones to see if the sound mysteriously is getting routed
through there even though nothing's plugged in. Not the case.

 12. Make sure Facebook is set to show on the notification center, and the
 lock screen. It is.

 13. Read the compatibility notes on the app store page to be sure I O S
7.1 is supported. Though it doesn't directly say it is, it doesn't
 directly say it's not either.

 14. Made sure the Facebook app is set to sounds, alerts, bannars. It was.

 15. Enable badges for the Facebook app. I know this shouldn't make a
difference, but I did so anyway, just in case.

 16. Made sure there was no update to the app that needed to be installed.
 There definitely isn't.

 So, yeah, on I O S 7.1. I don't think however this worked in 7.0 either.
I kind a remember them being broken there too, although I didn't use the
app much until very very recently, so at that time, I honestly didn't
really think about it to much, nor really care too much about it. I hate
to think I'm gonna have to get a different FB app, but if I can't have
audible alert tones for my notifications, then I'm sorry, but that's a
dealbreaker. And, quite a big one, if I may say myself.

 Any thoughts?

 Chris.
