Re: Item Chooser turning VO off
Use web rotor instead vo-u. I get something almost the same if I press vo-command-n when in an open message in Mail. It simply crashes and restarts VoiceOver! Gesture for slide to stop

I have tried double tapping and flicking in all directions with 1 finger and with 2 fingers but to no effect. the only way I can stop the app is to go to the app switcher and use the gesture to kill the app there. I use chrome vox when needed. It is an extension that runs when your screen reader si not needed but does not run in the address bar or the menu bar. it makes the page easier to use. If not, then all voice over tricks and tips should still work in google chrome. Logitech UE Boombox Review
Hi! I mentioned that I bought one of these boomers yesterday and wrote up some initial notes on my impressions of the Boom, how it worked with an iPhone etc. I've since found a review of the product for those who may be interested in making the same purchase or for getting something similar. I agree with much mentioned in the review linked to below, even more fascinating are the comparisons made between the Logitech UE Boom - the subject of the review itself - and other popular models of Bluetooth Speaker systems, the Jawbone Big Jambox and the Bose Soundlink, I own a Bose Soundlink Air and - whilst its not a Bluetooth system - it certainly presents better sound characteristics than the Logitech UE Boom so I'm assuming that the Bluetooth Bose Soundlink system would exhibit some similarities. http://reviews.cnet.com/bluetooth-speakers/logitech-ue-boombox/4505-34810_7-35419327.html ** Dane Trethowan Skype: grtdane12 Phone US (213) 438-9741 Phone U.K. 01245 79 0598 Phone Australia (03) 9005 8589 Mobile: +61400494862 faceTime +61400494862 Fax +61397437954 Twitter: @grtdane --- Mac Access At Mac Access Dot Net --- To reply to this post, please address your message to mac-access@mac-access.net You can find an archive of all messages postedto the Mac-Access forum at either the list's own dedicated web archive: http://mail.tft-bbs.co.uk/pipermail/mac-access/index.html or at the public Mail Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/mac-access@mac-access.net/. Re: Item Chooser turning VO off
While I don’t think I’ve personally encountered this with the Item Chooser, I have experienced it when using the Web Rotor, particularly when listing Static Text elements. Of course I’m now unable to locate one of those problem pages to post here for possible confirmation. :) Bryan On Mar 17, 2014, at 10:09 PM, Kristeen Hughes khwi...@gmail.com wrote: When I am in Safari, not all but some times, if I want to use the item chooser, I will press vo+i and after a short time of busy, the Mac will say, welcome to Mac OS 10; Voiceover is running. There is no item chooser list. I'm not sure if it makes a difference how many items are on a page, but I think the more items, the more likely it is to happen. Does anyone know why this is happening? It makes dealing with some very important sites on the web very difficult. --- Mac Access At Mac Access Dot Net --- To reply to this post, please address your message to mac-access@mac-access.net You can find an archive of all messages postedto the Mac-Access forum at either the list's own dedicated web archive: http://mail.tft-bbs.co.uk/pipermail/mac-access/index.html or at the public Mail Archive: http://www.mail-archive.com/mac-access@mac-access.net/. Fwd: Chrome Web Store - ChromeVox
Hi everyone. I’m trying to install Chromevox but I think I’m a bit lost. The Chromevox website at http://www.chromevox.com says to activate the “Add to Chrome” button, but I’m not finding that. Where might I be going astray here? Here is where I went to try and get Chromevox. Re: Chrome Web Store - ChromeVox
Maybe try the following steps. These assume the current stable build of Chrome running under MacOS 10.9.2. Also, since you will be using VO during the process of initially installing ChromeVox, keep in mind that VO does not always work the same in Chrome as it does in Safari or straight webkit. Sometimes if I’m not able to locate an element in chrome using the VO web rotor I might still be able to find it using the item chooser or by simply taking the long way ‘round and VO+Arrowing or even tabbing through the page. 1. Launch Chrome. 2. Go to www.chromevox.com. On that page, navigate to the link labeled “”Install ChromeVox” and activate the link by pressing VO+Spacebar. This will hopefully take you to the appropriate Chrome webstore page for ChromeVox. 3. Now navigate to the button unhelpfully labeled “Free” and activate it by pressing VO+Spacebar. Chrome might popup a window listing the potential privacy and other issues. If you are comfortable with these, navigate to the button labeled “Add” and activate it by pressing VO+Spacebar. At this point the ChromeVox extension should install itself and start speaking. You can toggle the active/inactive state of ChromeVox by pressing Command+Control+AA Some ChromeVox settings are adjusted by going to chrome://extensions, then navigating to the ChromeVox extension and then activating the options link. My suggestion after successfully installing ChromeVox is to go back to www.chromevox.com, read the information on that page and walk through the interactive tutorial. Re: Logitech UE Boombox Review
Keep in mind though. As mentioned yesterday on list, there are apparently different models of this unit, so don't think that you're necessarily always gonna get the same thing discussed in this review, nor by Dane directly. That's not a falt of him, nor of the review, although I do wish Dane had acknowledged this originally. Re: Logitech UE Boombox Review
I told you the different models available, there's the Logitech Boombox UR - as reviewed and discussed here - and the Logitech Boombox Mobile which is smaller. The UE is the bigger unit measuring around 14 inches from left to right and is the biggest Boombox in the Logitech range so - if its smaller than that - then its certainly not the model reviewed or mentioned by me smile.
