Re: ios 7.1

2014-10-14 Thread christopher hallsworth
This has not changed in iOS 8. Most of the time VoiceOver's rotor does
automatically switch to action but some of the time it doesn't at all or it
does then all of a sudden change to something like characters without warning.
No big deal though; I just use the rotor to go back to actions and it sticks.

I don't know. I'm thinking in about a week. That's what the event will be for

Couldn’t have said it better myself. I got my Mac Book Air almost a year
ago, and have found the on-board help and tutorial to be very good. There is
also AppleVis, which has a wealth of information not only for the Mac but
also for iOS devices. As others have said, we’re always glad to assist too.
I’m planning to read Janet Ingber’s book soon as well, which I’ve heard is
quite comprehensive.

Re: New Software Evaluation

2014-10-14 Thread Joshua Tubbs
Hello Gordan,
I have also been working with Jay for a number of years now on Radiologic
accessibility. It has definitely improved over the past year. I have an
accessibility topic on the forums which people may want to add to. I wish I
could figure out, with the scheduler, how I can make a playlist about an hour
or two that shuffles the music and makes it random, and then I can add requests
live as I do the show. This way I wouldn’t have to plan very much for my show.
For those of you who used Djay for broadcasting, or iTunes, you will notice a
serious difference with Radiologic when it comes to crossfading and this is why
I would very much like to use it.

Re: iWorks package

Hello Ian,

Once you’ve got iWork on one of your machines, you can get it on all your
machines. I think it appears in your purchased items.

Cheers,

Anne

Hi listers.
I've just got i Works included in my new macbook air. Lucky me. Can I get even
more lucky? Does this give me the right to iworks for free on my mac mini and
iphone?
Thanks in advance

New Software Evaluation

2014-10-14 Thread Gordon Smith
Hi all

I am currently in the process of evaluating a software package which looks very
interesting. It is for those who wish to broadcast via the Internet or
otherwise. It is called RadioLogik DJ for Mac. I know that previous versions
were not accessible. However, that appears to have changed.

I will put my experiences down in a blog journal so that those who are
interested can read it at their leisure.

Gordon

Re: urgent cannot save attachments in mail

2014-10-14 Thread David Griffith
Window Chooser is by default VO F2 pressed twice..
If you are using Numpad Commander on a numpad it is slash.
You can also assign an option key combination in keyboard Commander if that
makes it easier.
I have set up option W in the past to open Window Chooser.

Hi listers,
I have an email with attachments. On my mac mini using mountain lion I can
save the attachments to a folder. On my macbook air with mavericks I
cannot. The option to save them is dimmed even though I know they are
 there.

I also couldn't seem to open the file from within the message unless I
went through item chooser, so is there a focus problem in mavericks as
 well?

 thanks in advance

Re: urgent cannot save attachments in mail

2014-10-14 Thread Ian Harrison
Hi Brian,

thank you - that workaround seemed to do the trick. Two questions remain:

Is it a bug that the approach through the file menu doesn't work?

How do I find window chooser as David suggested?
Regards
Ian
