Re: [Mac-access]: does any one know how i can add custom sounds toSkype?

2015-04-04 Thread Colin Matthews
Hi!
OK in Skype open Command+Comma and in the tool bar select notifications and
then the details tab!
1, go to the event button and find the event you wish to add your own sound to!
2, Then make sure the check box is checked to play sound!
3, Next to that is a menu of the sounds you can pick from Arrow right to the
bottom and you should find a Add/remove press enter on that!
4, You should be put into a window which will have a table of sounds in your
sounds folder [see message about unzipping sounds]
5, If your sounds are in there you can select all of the sounds you want and
stop interacting and hit the OK/done button!
6,If you are still on a page where the default button is dimmed just close it!
7, You should be back in Skype and on that Event you picked!
8, Go back into the table of sounds and the ones you added should now all be
there, Just pick the one you want for that event and you should be done, There
is a play sound button to click just to make sure!
9, And if you’ve got more sounds added go to another Event and do the same but
this time the sounds should already be there for you!
PS I put in a M4A little clip and it works just fine, should also work with
.MP3’s

Re: [Mac-access]: does any one know of a way of un zipping things onthe mac?

2015-04-04 Thread Colin Matthews
Hi!
OK if you get the sounds unzipped then copy them and add them to the sounds
folder in your home directory!
In finder hit either VO+m or Control+f3!
Then press g to go to the go menu and with either vo keys or Quicknav on arrow
down to Library and hit enter!
In list view interact and type s o and you should end up on your sounds folder!
Use either Command+down arrow or Command+o to open that folder and paste your
sounds in there!
Look for the message about adding sounds to Skype for further help!

Re: [Mac-access]: iPhone Dialling Problem Using Virtual Keypad

2015-03-23 Thread Colin Matthews
Hi!
OK I had the same thing but after quite a few calls and getting through to a
human!
I was told that 33222 is still the number and that message about the number
should not be there and they are going to fix it!
And so if you call 33222 and stick with it you will not be charge for that call!
Apparently that number quoted is for landlines or non voda customers!

Hi!
Ok on the Mac when you’ve chose one of the Bob’s in contacts then select the
edit button and then go to the menu [control+f2 or VO+m]
Then press C to go to the card menu and arrow down to add field sub menu and
right arrow into there and you will find nickname or on the iPhone look for add
field after choosing edit and you can add a nickname field from there!

Re: [Mac-access]: question about voices.

2014-12-14 Thread Colin Matthews
Hi!
Ok just open Voiceover utility with VO+f5 then tab to “allow apple scripts to
be controlled by voice over” check box and see if that is checked and if not
check it!
If that is checked just press Command+8 to the commanders and select the
keyboard tab and go through the options to see if the right option key is
selected!

Hi!
I’ve had a look in the App store on my iMac and it is listed also at £54.95 so
like David said if the other one lets you get it at 5.95 absolute bargain, but
it might not let you!I got mine as part of a 11 App bundle including Mac scan,
App delete and others for just under £50.

Re: [Mac-access]: invert colors on Yosemite

2014-12-08 Thread Colin Matthews
Hi!
I hope this still works in Yosemite!
1, go to system pref's and select keyboard.
2, select the shortcuts tab.
3, select the accessibility category in the table.
4, in the table of key strokes find invert colours and interact with it until
you hear VO say editing text, then press the key combination you wish to use
[making sure that key stroke is not used for anything else]
and VO should say selection replaced, arrow left and back to see if your
selection is now there and if so just quit Pref's and off you go!
The default key stroke to invert colours is the same as one of the hotspot
options VO+command+8 [describes item under hotspot 8]
I've successfully changed that to option+command+0 [in my case]
And now pressing those keys change from white on black to black on white!
I hope this is still the case and can be changed.
Colin.

Re: [Mac-access]: How do I add a Spanish keyboard layout to my Mac?

2014-11-07 Thread Colin Matthews
Hi!
I did it a different way!
When I got to the part where you were on the search field I did not put
anything in there!
What I did was arrow across to the table of Languages interacted with it then
arrowed down to Spanish stopped interacting then arrowed right and another
table with 2 options was there [Spanish or Spanish - ISO] So I suppose you
would need to pick one of those 2 options!
Then there is an add default button if your happy with your choice just press
enter!
PS I noticed the table of Languages is to the left of the search field past a
HTML field So I would think after your search method you might find that table
of 2 choices!
!

And if you like can choose to put the keyboards menu in [menu extras] and I

Hi!
Ok I’ve got 2.9.4 but have had Mac scan for ages and just updated within the

I went to the web site and also can only see one download option for 2.9.4!
Hit the download by mistake but sure enough ended up with a disc image
installer for Mac scan in my downloads folder!
Is that what you’ve got and could not install it!

Re: Adding The "Date Added" Column to The Songs Table In iTunes

2014-10-21 Thread Colin Matthews
HiDane or anyone else interested!
Ok having a play around myself because I also sort with other fields!
I noticed under Command+j those options to add fields like date added are no
longer there!
But when going through different buttons and just going through their options I
found that the button next to the scroll area which depending on what you’ve
set might say Songs or Albums or something!
But pressing on it you get sort options a main table to select Albums or Songs
and so on!
Selecting songs then next along are 2 buttons the second of which has a lot of
options including personal submenu and stats submenu!
And in that stats option is to sort by Date added!
And on another note if someone has noticed in Album view scroll area they have
a recently added table then a bit further over the Album grid and do not want
it!
Back under that sort button if you select Albums then after the 2 options to
sort Artist or albums there is a show recently added check box and then options
for how long ago those items have been there like 6months!
So just uncheck it and no more recents for Album view!
HTH Colin
I hope these directions are OK if not I’ll try to help anyone who might get
stuck!

Re: magnifier?

2014-10-16 Thread Colin Matthews
Hi!
The conflict that is mentioned could be if you want to invert colours!
In keyboard shortcuts in Keyboard pref’s the default key stroke is the same as
describe item at hotspot 8 [VO+command+8] so if needed you can change that key
stroke to another of your choice [that of course does not conflict with another]
I just noticed under Keyboard pref’s under keyboard shortcuts, Accessibility
you can turn on the toggle to turn zoom on or off by checking the box and that
command is Option+command+8 when active!

Re: High contrast, black and white for Mac air

2014-09-21 Thread Colin Matthews
Hi!
You will have to change the key stroke to one of your liking [and one that does
not clash with another command]
The default key stroke is one of the hot spot commands
[control+option+command+8] that describes item at hotspot 8!
I set up option+command+8 for mine!

Hi!
I do not use Braille but the bluetooth keyboard command to hide and unhide the

So I do not know if you can achieve the same with a braille keyboard!

Re: Skype Question

2014-08-04 Thread Colin Matthews
Hi Eleanor!
Ok You open VO+M or press Control+f2 to get to the main menu!
When on the apple option arrow down to System Pref’s and open!
Or open System pref’s from the Doc!
Then in the scroll area press u and that should take you to users and groups
button and open that!
Pick your option from the table and then log-in items and in the table you will
see all items that log-in!
You can choose to either uncheck or check any there or add or remove them for
good!
