voiceover voices

2013-06-15 Thread amy gilbert
hi all, i’m having a bit of a problem. the other day i was playing with the
other voice options or whatever it’s called in voiceover utility i checked it
and changed the voices to what i wanted, then i didn’t like it so i tried to
change it all back again. now, when i want to change the default voice i get
alex reading most things and the default reading only some, for example, the
new voice will say, finder, then alex will say the contents of the finder
window. i’ve unchecked the other voice options and it will not let the new
voice read everything, if i want that i have to check that other voice options
again and change everything manually, e.g, contents voice, atributes voice,
etc. i just want it back the way it was before, when you selected a default
voice it was the default voice. sorry i hope you all understand what i’m on
about lol. amy

yeah it didn't take me long either, i just focused on the fact it's nothing
like windows and latched on streight away, i was so impatient at first, i
wanted to learn everything at the same time. i was using the mac full time
within a month or too, and have only gone back to windows for a few months

might be a setting in there to make it start up at start up that you could

 Hello,
I am running iBook on my iPhone 3GS under IOS 6.1. I am using the two
finger downward swipe to read the book continuously from start to finish.
this worked fine on my first iBook (under IOS 6.0).

With this, my second iBook, VoiceOver seems to omit large chunks of text.
From the page numbers at the bottom of each page I seem to be reading all
the book's physical pages but there are big discontinuities between the
bottom of one physical page and the start of the next physical page. I
wonder if the source book is formatted as two columns per physical page
and VoiceOver is only reading the left hand columns?

As I am doing this on an iPhone there are many iPhone pages for each
physical book page, even if I use the smallest font.

Do you have any thoughts on what might be happening and on what I can do
to fix it? I have most of the options in the iBook settings turned off.

 Many thanks for any help.

Re: Amadeus was Re: Audio Hijack Pro

hi, i've been using audio hijack pro for the last year and i love it, i wanted
to be able to record myself and record what voiceover was doing for a podcast
that i never got done, heres how you do it.
make a new session using your built-in microphone as the imput. hijack that,
just hijack it don't record with it. then go to your system audio session and
start recording with it, and there you go. really useful when you want to show
someone how to use voiceover. amy

 Hello all.
I am trying to record audio from my audio input. When I do this in Audio
Hijack Pro, the audio is not only being recorded; it is also being
hijacked, causing excessive feedback. Do I really need this app, or are
there apps out there to capture audio from either an application and or
audio input without the excessive feedback caused by hijacking. If so, can
it record in the MP3 format so it can be distributed on the web?
I have heard of Wiretap, should I try this?
Thanks for any help regarding this.
 Chris.
