cool, thanks for that info.
recording from TV to computer is very hard but better on the old system. using
an Olympus recorder is out of the question because the mike jacks on them tend
to give off a background hiss. …

2015-02-09 Thread Sarah k Alawami
A preamp will boost a signle from an outside source. Yu need a way to record
the output of a sound card such as your iMic or what ever you hook the tv to. I
don't think a preamp is what you need or everytign will sound comptessed. They
have mic preamps but not sure if they have a usb sound card that will act as a
preamp. I'm quite behind on that technology.

to answer your question yes the game is totally accessible but I'll talk about
it in another thread.

I go tape in from the machine to my board, then hook my board up via usb. It
sounds quite good. I have several excerpts of this using my iphone at

[Mac-access]: seeking Suggestions for recording sound from TV to my iMac

2015-02-09 Thread Michael Marshall
hey all,
i have a TV with a 3.5MM headphone jack witch i used to connect to the mike
port on my windows computer and record the sound.
on the mac i have run into some significant difficulties with this.
Obviously the Mac has no dedicated microphone jack witch can be overcome with
the iMike USB interface witch i have got. this has a mike jack so i thought i
would be fine.
The main problem that I am having is that on that and any other computer a lot
of USB recording devices including this one have an unpleasant buzzing sound. I
have found this problem over multiple systems and multiple USB devices. My
theory is that it is electrical interference between the computer and the USB
interface.
what i would like to know is this, is there a way to use the 3.5MM patching
cable connected to the headphone port on my television to somehow Connect to
the Mac without USB? because i'm not getting the best Sound with my current
configurations.
thanks for any help on this.
