Assistance With New gmail Account

2013-07-31 Thread Desi Noller
Hi Everyone,

I now have a gmail address, but am not sure how to set up my account to work in
Apple Mail on my iMac. I'm thinking I do it through System Preferences? Are
all gmail accounts imap accounts? My goal was to get an imap account as my
q.com address only supports POP3. Thanks for any help you can give! I want to
be able to collect my messages from my gmail account in my regular inbox
without having to go to the website. I would also like to be able to control
what happens with these messages from my iPhone, and iPod Touch.

Hello. in mail go to yrou prefs then accounts in the tool bar, then to add new
account. From there just enter you name, your gmail and its password and from
there follow the prompts. apple will detect a gmail account and set it up for
you so all you need to do is make sure the settings are correct and hit create.

Also sometimes it asks if you want contacts to be set up there to and notes
and calendar. I normally say no to that and only set it up for mail.

Take care.

Hello there. If you go to the gmail site and log in it will see you have
a mac. It will ask you if you want to set up on it and just say yes. It
will put everything where it needs to be and set up as imop.

Hi Sarah and All,

I did it!! It was truly easy thanks to your guidance! Now comes the
annoying task of unsubscribing my list mail from my q.com address to my gmail
address! Oh well! At least I only have to do it once! Thanks again!
