Hello Sarah

There's a radio button on the website that gives you the option of whether to
run the download manager or just use your browser. We did the latter, no
problem at all.

2011-11-26 Thread Mrs. Lynnette Annabel Smith
Hello Sarah

Fair enough, but I should make it absolutely clear that the copy on our site is
definitely not pirated in any way whatsoever. It's just the same as the version
which VMWAre themselves distribute. But it's entirely down to the individual.

We've never had a problem with downloading their products. I wasn't aware that
the DVD version or CD version is cheaper; it's actually the other way around
over here.

But Sarah; please don't think I'm criticising; not in the least. I was just
genuinely curious. I apologise if I gave you any offence. Same goes for Geoff.

Stupid question. I bought fusion 4 today and it will ship to me probably by
monday or so since today's black friday and not sure if mail moves. lol!

Can I in theory enter the key shown on the box or, do I have to install from
the cd and then enter the key from that box. It said retail so I'm assuming the
latter.

Thanks and can't wait to use this awsome piece of kit.

Take care all

2011-11-22 Thread Mr. L. Alexander
yes. this is all doable. it's worth noting that you need a reasonable amount of
ram to handle this. 4GB minimum, creating small partitions.

I'll be road testing this soon as I can get a copy of fusion and sort out a
windows XP pro CD.

• I downloaded it and I am not impressed with it.

I'm sorry to hear that.

• WHen you launch it I sometimes get lost in the tool bar without a way of
getting out of it.

I've never seen that; but have you tried pressing Command+Shift+L, to bring up
the VM Library?

• When I finally do though g how I can move around but then I lost my internet
connection with in windows and I can't get it back without going back into my
mac.

Again I can't duplicate this; and yes, I have tried it with VoiceOver.

• That are my findings thus far.

With respect, I think you're having local configuration issues. It's behaving
fine here. I grant you that the new full screen support is a little different,
but it is working perfectly here.

I would like anyone else's findings.

You have mine. I wouldn't have posted that message if I'd believed there were
major problems. :)

Hello John

My best suggestion would be to look at the recommended maximum that Fusion
gives you for a VM. It should help you make an informed choice based on your
own individual system.

Hello Mike

We always use full screen; but be mindful of the fact that it won't stop
VoiceOver from interfering sometimes with your VM. As for the second question
yes. Command+Control+Enter.

All of this information is available in VMWare's help within the software. I
encourage you to have a read of the documentation.

VM fusion 4.1 final

2011-09-24 Thread mike maslo
Hi list:

Sorry for asking so many questions but I am about to install my other
operating system on my computer and I wanted to get the recommended settings
based upon my system I have.

I have 4 gig of ram right now but eventually will upgrade and 500 gig hard
drive.

Based upon this information what would you recommend my configuration for vm
fusion be for the guest computer?

Thanks so much and again I apologize for so many questions.

Interact with the toolbar, show all and you'll see the area where you can

 You can adjust the ram.

Make sure the Machine is stopped. Next if you hit command-E this will
bring up settings.

Or another way, hit command-shift-l which will bring the Library. VO
right, interact and when the Machine is highlighted, do VO-Shift-M and arrow
down to settings.

Interact with the toolbar, show all and you'll see the area where you can
adjust RAM.

If you have 4GB of ram set the ram for Windows at 3GB.

Now when you update the ram to 8GB and if your OS is 64Bite, then
you can update your ram to 6GB or however much you want. I of
course wouldn't allocate to 8GB. smile

If only using 32Bit than for the most part, Windows doesn't recognize
anything over 3.3GB.

 Hi list:

Sorry for asking so many questions but I am about to install my
other operating system on my computer and I wanted to get the
recommended settings based upon my system I have.

I have 4 gig of ram right now but eventually will upgrade and 500
 gig hard drive.

Based upon this information what would you recommend my
configuration for vm fusion be for the guest computer?

Thanks so much and again I apologize for so many questions.

Re: VM fusion 4.1 final

2011-09-24 Thread John Gunn
Hello Mike:

If I'm in Windows, and if I command-tab, VoiceOver talks on the Mac side.

So you don't have to turn off VoiceOver.

John
