2012-08-21 Thread Thomas McMahan
V o home and end keys or v o shift home and end keys if a full sized keyboard
home to top end to bottom. For laptop and none full sized keyboards function
shift v o keys arrow left to go up and arrow right to go to bottom. That
works on most lists and pages.

Re: Jumping to top of mailbox

2012-08-21 Thread Esther
Hi Travis,

Up through Snow Leopard you could hold down the Option key with either the Up
or Down arrow and just wait a little to move to the top or bottom of the
messages table in Mail. This applied only to Mail, and was a system feature
that did not depend on VoiceOver. Unfortunately, this system feature went away
in Lion and above. It should still work for Mail if you try this on machines
running Snow Leopard or earlier versions of Mac OS X.

HTH. Cheers,

Esther

There's a system keyboard shortcut for this too, that doesn't require
voiceover, but although I thought it was command-shift-home/end, to
jump to top/bottom of the list, it's not working for me at the
moment, so not sure what happened there. But, I know there is one,
so perhaps someone else could enlighten us if my keystroke is wrong. :)

RE: Jumping to top of mailbox

2012-08-21 Thread David Griffith
shift vo Home to go to the top and
shift vo end to go to the end.
I can never remember what the laptop keystroke is for home and end as I
never use a laptop keyboard but it does involve using the FN key and an
arrow key.
If you try experimenting with fn shift control option and the arrow keys you
will eventually get there.

This means that it is quite a lot of keys to push all at once on a laptop
keyboard. One of the reasons I avoid it and use a full size keyboard.
If you use this a lot I think it is possible to customise a shortcut using
the keyboard commander in Voiceover Utility . using this you can set up a
combination using option key plus another key. If you only have the left
option key available on the smaller laptop layout You will have to be
careful not to overwrite an inbuilt Mac OS shortcut.
