Re: Can anyone recommend an app for recording on IPhone and IPad.

2012-01-23 Thread Eric Caron
Hi Annie,

YOu are doing it right. I think Voice over is the problem. In most
cases when you are on a item that can be changed voice Over says something like
"button" or "adjustable" But, for some reason In List Recorder in settings the
items don't say they are buttons or adjustable, but they are.

Place your focus on the level indicator, it probably says 22 KHZ. double tap on
it and you will be able to change the level from a low of 8 KHZ to a high of 44
KHZ. You can do the same thing with the audio type which is the item before
the level. Just double tap on it and you can change it from the iPhone format
to .WAV.

I'm working on a podcast that shows all this but I'm having problems with my
Mac Book, and have not been able to finish.

I hope this helps.

 Hi Annie, Courtney and others,

Courtney had asked about getting the text from List Recorder to the
computer. I found the answer and in typical List Recorder fashion it is
 easy.
When you create a List recorder item it can have audio, a title, and text.
If you want that information on your computer you can move it in a few
different ways. the easiest I have found is to:

 Open the item
 tap on the actions button
 tap on email
the title of the item becomes the subject, the text area becomes the body
of the email, and the audio is a attachment.
send it to yourself and you are all set.

Remember the audio is in the iPhone default format so if you are using a
PC you may want to change the recording default in settings to .WAV.

 Annie,

I've been reading your posts for a long time and never picked up that
you were using English as a second language! I've been studying French

Hi Eric.

I can not find the button for recording level. I have also read that I can
change the recording level, but the setting is not there. What am I doing
wrong? In my settings it says setings, the next heading is audio when record
format and next record quality. I am afraid something will not show up here, or
does VoiceOver play with me.

Thank you an advance.

Hi Annie,

If you are looking for a way to have List Recorder recordings be done
in different levels you actually can do that. Go to settings and tap on the
recording level and you will find it is adjustable. The same is true of the
type of recording. For example you can change it to .WAV. And you can change
the Hertz from 8 to 44.

You can also change to stereo if you have a external microphone. Is that the
level adjustment you were missing in List Recorder?

Hi.

You will also need the full version of list recorder to record more than 10
seconds.

It is not as difficult to work with list recorder as it first looks. I got a
lot of knowledge by reading the quick guide that's in the app, when you
download it.

I miss a few features in list recorder. I miss recording level control and
setting.

I have also found an app, that I will try to figure out, if the developer wil
change a few things, so it will become accessible. When I have got an answer, I
will tell more about it.

Best regards Annie.

 Hi Annie,

I've used several apps for recording and the two I found are best are
List Recorder and Voxy Recorder. I may be spelling Voxie wrong.
I am a fan of List Recorder because I find it easy to organize the
recording. And because the app also has many additional features. the
Developer also keeps improving and adding features.

I believe I did read that it supports stereo recording and has several
options for recording quality. You can also easily move the recording to
your computer using Dropbox, email, or iTunes file share.

I used Voxie when I first got a iPhone. I liked it for the quick
recording feature. But I found organizing recordings very difficult.
Also I'm not good at using the FTTP method of moving recordings. Also,
List recorder has the ability to do written notes and that is actually
handy with both Siri and my Bluetooth keyboard.

The only tricky thing I have found in List Recorder is that there are so
many features that you really need to take the time to read the
documentation. Once you do that you will find it a fast and easy to use
 recorder and note taker.

I actually planned on doing some podcasts but have been too darn busy! I
did finish one that is like a introduction and a getting started podcast
but I would really need to do a series to do the app justice.

You can learn more at sixth mode.com which is the developer's website.

I have not tried to set it up to record in the background, so I'm not
 sure if that would work,

I can tell that I have bought the guitar jack 2 from sonoma wire works,

I need to make recordings in about an hour in length.

Re: Can anyone recommend an app for recording on IPhone and IPad.

2012-01-21 Thread Eric Caron
Hi Courtney,

I'm pretty sure you can access the written text in List Recorder from your PC
or Mac, but I have not learned how to do that yet. I'm in the process of
increasing my skills in this App and have started a series of podcasts designed
to walk through the features. Once I get a few more done I'll let the list
know. I've only finished one so far. I've given it to Blindcooltech.com but
I'm concerned they may not be posting new submissions. I also sent it to the
List Recorder developer and she did write to me and said she planned to post it
on her site. the List Recorder site is sixth mode.com There are detailed
tutorials there.

Again I'm pretty sure you can move the text along with the title and recording
but I have not tried it yet. I had good success in the past with both the
email and save to dropbox functions. I also used the iTunes file sharing but
need to refresh myself how to use it!

2012-01-20 Thread Bubba
Was not trying to point out anyone is miss typing at all ! was making sure
what she was asking ! So I could give her or him an answer! So since you
have no idea what I was saying just stay out of it! You just presume I was
chastising the person and was not by no mean! So if you have no good input
don't say anything! So go shove it! Have a nice day! Oh by the way no I
don't chastise anyone for grammar or spelling like you do by the way! Like
I say go set on a big fat one!

Hi Bubba, or what ever your name is; you've posted to various lists using
three different names and some of your past headers suggest that you're
employed by the state of Florida, so I'm not quite sure how to address you.

Apparently the civil service human resource screening people down there
don't have standards; I mean, do you really lack the reading comprehension
skills to ascertain what Annie meant, or was your goal to waste all of our
time pointing out that she was guilty of a typo. I think that English is
not Annie's primary language, yet I've learned a lot from her on these
lists. The irony is that your posts consistently contain about 20 times the
average number of spelling and grammatical errors, yet English is presumably
your primary language. Go figure!!

Best regards.
Geoff

Re: Can anyone recommend an app for recording on IPhone and IPad.

2012-01-18 Thread Eric Caron

I believe I did read that it supports stereo recording and has several options
for recording quality. You can also easily move the recording to your computer
using Dropbox, email, or iTunes file share.

I used Voxie when I first got a iPhone. I liked it for the quick recording
feature. But I found organizing recordings very difficult. Also I'm not good
at using the FTTP method of moving recordings. Also, List recorder has the
ability to do written notes and that is actually handy with both Siri and my
Bluetooth keyboard.

The only tricky thing I have found in List Recorder is that there are so many
features that you really need to take the time to read the documentation. Once
you do that you will find it a fast and easy to use recorder and note taker.

I actually planned on doing some podcasts but have been too darn busy! I did
finish one that is like a introduction and a getting started podcast but I
would really need to do a series to do the app justice.

You can learn more at sixth mode.com which is the developer's website.

I have not tried to set it up to record in the background, so I'm not sure if
that would work, but I suspect it would as other features such as play back
continue in the background when I have closed the app.

What happens if you use the voice memos app? I plan on getting an blue micki
which now supports ipn=hone 4 and I believe higher and records in stereo. but
the voice memos app records pretty good quality.

Thanks.
