Hello Michael:

To add Skype, you need to go to system preferences and you should be able
to see Growel in there.

i downgraded growl to a less current version but all i can see in
the apps under settings is the growl app itself.
no other app appears to show up and i can't find a single way of
adding apps such as skype.

Re: applications in growl

2011-11-01 Thread Lyn her faithful furry friends
Michael,

I will try to get you on skype later if you are available and we could go
through your skype settings if you like and see what the problem is. We could
compare your settings to mine and hopefully this will help. I do not use growl
to get spoken feedback on skype, I use skype's built in notification system and
it does the job just fine.

Applications have to be launched to connect to growl so you generally have to
launch the application once for growl to know about it.
Try the growl version detector tool which you can download free from the
growl web site. This scans your installed applications and lists those which
contain growl support and indicates which level of growl they work with.
My current version of Skype is somewhat outdated. I will upgrade it and check
which level of growl it needs.
 All the best

Oh thanks.
Wow to do I have a lot to learn.
I hope I've missed nothing important in emails especially for voice over. I
just realized today that some subjects are not all there till I expand them.
The web is still a mystery for me too as well as how to take files from my xp
to mac.
