Re: Address book and groups

2011-11-20 Thread Esther
Hi Ian,

Yes, this is a bug with VoiceOver that has been reported to Apple. It wouldn't
hurt to report it again. You need to turn VoiceOver off, type the entry, then
turn VoiceOver back on again. Here are the steps:
1. Interact with the group table and set your VO cursor on the new group.
2. Route your mouse cursor to your VoiceOver cursor with VO-Command-F5
3. Turn VoiceOver off with Command-F5
4. Press Return
5. Type the new group name
6. Press Return
7. Turn VoiceOver back on again with Command-F5

(If you have you have your Mouse cursor set to track your VoiceOver cursor
under the Navigation options of VoiceOver Utility, you can skip step 2 about
routing your mouse cursor.)

HTH. Cheers,

Esther

Re: Address book and groups

2011-11-20 Thread Bryan Jones
Hello Ian,

Here are two sets of instructions: One for naming a group as you create it, and
another for renaming an existing group. This is how I'm able to do it on my MBA
running Lion 10.7.2.

To name a new group as you are creating it:
1. Press Command+3 to put address book into the Groups view.
2. Create a new group by pressing Command+Shift+N . VO will announce something
like, "untitled group, contents selected."
3. At this point you should be able to simply type the desired group name and
press return to complete the process.

To change the name of an existing group:
1. Press Command+3 to put address book into the Groups view.
2. Use VO to navigate to the desired group, where VO announces the group's
current name.
3. Interact with the group. VO will announce, "interact with edit text."
4. Press return and VO announces, "contents selected."
5. Type the new name and press return to complete the process.

HTH,
Bryan

then type your new name press return again and put vo back on and the new name
